September is about to come to anend, and I just remembered in 2001, how tragic of a month that was. I had been in the Air force for a couple of years and I was just starting to get comfortable being in the military and serving my country. I felt proud...like there was no sweat off my back.
Boy did things change that day. I was stationed in California, my home state...loving the weather. I was to report in late to work that day, for a reason I can't even remember. I was getting ready, and all of a sudden I hear my husband yelling about something that was happening on the news.
In my mind, I was thinking..oh another high speed chase..someone crashed, no big deal. But when I looked to see what the heck he was making noise about I thought I was dreaming. I was hurt, shocked, and scared all at the same time.
What were you doing on this day, and what were your feelings at the moment you found out?

I remember exactly where I was. I had just left my apartment and was stopped at a red light on my way to go shopping. All of a sudden they broke in on the radio and said that one of the twin towers were hit by a plane. The DJ kept yelling into the microphone, "This has Got to be a Terrorist Attack", it just has to be......and he kept repeating this. It was really scary and my heart just sank and I was so hoping he was just nervous or panic stricken, anything but right. Sure enough, a short while later the second building was hit. Then it really hit me that he was right on with his statement, and I thought the whole US was under attack at that moment.
What a horrible, horrible day that was for everyone and it's one I will never in my life forget, which I'm sure no one will.
I'm glad you're ok and you are alive and well.
