Actually, I've learned that I can voice my opinion and walk away. I'm not going to get into a battle justifying my opinion. I've also come to the conclusion that although I love my little star, it isn't going to keep me quiet and make me a sheeple to have it. I just voice my opinion and move on. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that post a negative rating? Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a post, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions. I copied this from mylot faq. I guess this is where the problem lies, when you don't agree with others opinion, you are given a negative rating..well in fact, we could all dis agree in any given topics but still have a higher rating..if only we are all matured enough to take others ideas and opinions. Now, It would really depends on a mylotter if what he values best, higher ratings or expressing his opinion. I hope though that this site still be friendly and fun.

I have had several jerks over the months remove me as a friend, attack my ratings and/or attempted to begin a character assignation all because I posted what I believe in or my opinion in general. Yes there are some low lives out here that think only their opinions count. However there are far more of us that say like it or not, EVERY one has a right to say what they think whether that be in a statement or a reply, we all get to have our say. Don't let the drop bother you. It will climb, no not as fast as it dropped, but none the less, it will go back up. I have been as low as an 8 too myself a couple of times. Stay positive and focused and don't let the trolls get to you.

Don't I know it! I have not been around much lately because before I would reduce myself to a mushy mouthed hypocrite I would rather nor respond only response to very general innocuous discussions.

Of course everyone has their own opinion, but its still in the way that a person expresses theirself, i really didnt ever have any trouble with my lot and even if you dont get paid alot its still cool to meet new people and start your own discussions/blogs while still earning a few $

It's simply because people just want others to agree with them or be "nice" to them at all times. They can't take hearing others points of view. They don't WANT to hear them! Personally I don't care what happens to my points - if I want to say something I'll say it. I would rather have no star at all than be like some people on here - "mindless drone" is quite a polite way of describing them actually lol!

I try not to get into verbal wars because I know it will affect my star rating because some people are just immature that way. The negative rating should be reserved for those who do not respond to the discussion (ie they didn't even read the discussion), have used abusive language, or the like. However, the star rating does not affect your earnings. I have been a 10 (98/100) since the star rating was implemented. My earnings have gone down because of lack of participation because I can't find a lot of discussions I can respond to (and I can't for the life of me get that 98 up to a 99 or 100 LOL!) So don't worry about the star rating affecting your ratings; it doesn't. And we all have to accept that everyone has different opinions - that's what makes a discussion a discussion. It is no reason to give someone a negative rating.

Sounds as if you've been burned one too many times on here. I'm sorry about that. I enjoy the discussions where not everyone thinks alike. Hope things get better for you.

I honestly dont care if ppl dont like what I say, forum or not, earnings or not. I am mainly here to have an outlet for my need to talk lol. To express my opinion is such a strong part of me that I will never be a mindless drone. I doubt that having a strong opinion about something even if the op doesnt like it will have such detremential effect on your earnings. Or at least you can easily earn it back again. Ups Im contrary right now ;) Will you sack my ratings? LOL

Some people are closed minded and some aren't. That's the unfortunet part about our wonderful world. However, me personally, don't mind someone giving their opinion as long as it's not done in a derogatory way. There's no need in that. Besides, it falls on deaf ears or it starts an arguement in which neither works. A mature person will be able to talk it out and tell each others views however an inmature person cannot. I won't argue with anybody unless it's about the well being of an animal or a child. Other than that, forget it. It just isn't worth it.
