Have you ever had your car detailed? We did today for the first time. My hubby had been wanting to ever since we bought our gorgeous 1993 Jaguar. I just love that car and have enjoyed it for a couple of years. But we are now getting ready to sell it, we think. Wow, getting it detailed really made it pretty again. It was exspensive though, around $85. Is that about what everyone pays? It was our first time so we didn't know if it was high or low or a usual charge. They did do a lot of work, shampooed and even waxed the car. Wish I had a picture of it to show you.

I think you misunderstood the kind of detailing I was referring too. You are talking about auto detailing and painting, am I correct? I was referring to detailing, meaning a very thorough washing, waxing, vacuuming, shampooing of upholstery and carpets, etc. Thank you though for sharing with me, have a great day :)

Good thing you escaped. That would trouble me too about the coconuts. We are going to sell ours too, that is why he decided to detail it this time. Hope you enjoy your new automobile. Thanks for sharing with me :)

We had a car detailed (definately NOT a Jag), about 5 years ago. I think we paid around the same as you did. It is an amazing difference when they are finished with it! You don't know how dirty it actually was, until you get it back!

I know what you mean, they shampooed the carpets and cleaned everything inside, the carpets look like new now. I'm ashamed that I didn't take it in sooner. I know it's hard work, b/c I have washed and vacuumed in the hot weather before and it takes a toll on your energy. Thanks for sharing with me today :)

You really did well for that price hun. My girlfriend just had the same thing done to her little sports car. I didn't see it but she told me on the phone they did a nice job but it cost over 200.00, she didn't say excately how much but she said over 200, mind you I'm in Canada. could never afford that much and a lot wouldn't pay it even if the money was available but I bet they do a lovely job.

My hubby had wanted to get it done a long time ago, simply b/c my health wouldn't allow me to shampoo and detail it myself, and where we live, in the country, a lot of sand gets on our shoes in the car, we have extra car mats on top of the really nice ones in the car. But since we wanted to sell it, we decided it would help to get more money if the car looked it's best. And it looks sooo pretty. We couldn't of afforded to do that on a regular basis. They have places to just vacuum and wash it for a lot cheaper, but he wanted it waxed and shampooed too, he felt $85 was a pretty reasonable price for it. But I'm like you, it's a lot of money. Hope you are having a wonderful week :)

I have had my car detailed but I could never afford the shampooing, I usually get the vacuum and wash and wipe down the interior thing. I am pretty cheap about that lol. But I am considering doing the champooing. The last time I was at the car dealership it was close to $200 for the whole deal. I usually take it to another place that is just a car detailing place, they seem to be less expensive. $85 is not a bad deal. At least I don't think it is.

No, the only car I've ever owned is a 1987 Corolla and I don't think detailing it would make much of a difference! I've only had it for 3 years and as much as I love it, it's not worth spending much on.
I plan on getting a new car next year and I'm sure I will look after it and try to keep it in as good condition as possible. My uncle details cars so I'll take it to him every now and then for a polish!

Oh isn't a lovely fresh and thoroughly detailed car wonderful? I have no idea about price cos my friend does this for a job and he always details my car for me when I need it done - I don't even have to drop it off - he picks it up and takes it to work for me! I am deadly jealous of your car - sounds wonderful! xxx
