Do your prefer to read books written by male authors or female authors? Does one gender write better than the other?

I enjoy reading, plain and simple. I don't care if the author is male or if they're female, as long as they have a good novel, I'll read it. No, one gender does not write better than the other. Books are different because the authors are different. They have different opinions, thoughts, feelings, genres, etc. That's what makes them different, not whether or not they were born male or female. I personally read more male authors than I do female authors, but that's just how things turned out do the books I picked up and the genre's I prefer. I don't judge a book by it's author's gender and doing so would be silly.

Thanks for the excellent response. I don't care if the author is male or female either. I just wanted to get a good discussion going.

I have no such preference. I read books written by both male and female authors. There is nothing one gender writes better than the other. It is all on the talent of the person!

I have no gender preference. If the author can write an interesting story, I'll read it.
