Choosing between your bf or your family..... which one and why???

My friend of mine had encountered this problem... She's 28 y/o now and yet still not married. She had a bf but broke up with him because her family will betray her if she wont broke up.. I feel sorry for her because that kind of decision is the one that i want to be left for my account. I dont know if its reasonable to do that because i haven't experienced it yet.. But the mere fact that you love both of you them.... makes me crazy...
