Barack Obama might run for The Presidential post this year. Do u think he has a chance??
Is it high time tht this sort of thing happened or r the racial boundaries still strong??I think his chances of victory r almost non existant ot because of his in experience but because of his race. And if u come to think of it he is the only African-American currently serving in the US senate.
Wht is ur opiniion??

I think he's too new, been a senator for only two years, maybe Rice? That would be something - a black and a colored woman, a first for a nation that prides itself in it's fredom spirit, and they have never ever had a woman as a president, even backward and Muslim pakistan had a woman as head of the state, as did Sri lanka, India, Philippines, Isreal, UK among others.
I think Clinton has a better chance.

Don't push your luck, partner. Were diffenitly not ready
for a black president nor a woman president.
Brarack looks like a nice guy but he lacks political experience, most of all maturity. I don't want to pop your balloon but Colon Powell would make a better president than Barack. Because he's black, No. Because he has a lot more political experience. For both home and abroad. Sorry!!
Till Barack to save his money. Maybe in 20 years.

Because most black candidates make a deal out of the fact they are black. They promise to do great things to help black people.
The problem is, the majority of voters are still white and vote at a higher rate than black people do (49 percent versus 42 percent). Black candidates lose because they don't address their needs.

he might have a chance. most people are to the point where the color of skin doesn't matter to them. but there still are those wicked racial people out there.

I don't know much about him. But if he has the right credentials, talent, skill, experience then it shouldn't matter whether he is black or white or any other race. he should have a fair chance of becoming the president. I feel US is democracy where everyone should have equal chance to lead the country. Though voter bias may be handicap.

Skin color defintiely does matter. Most of the voters are white people, and most of voters probally don't like the idea of a black president, even if they try and tell you that skin doesn't matter. I'm black and I get racially discriminated all the time, that's definitely translating into what people think about the president they may have. If they don't think they can even trust a black man around their purse, they defintiely aren't going to trust a black man being their head of state. People are still racist and discrimative, whether you guys admit it is there or not.

I don't know his political views so I cant say if he would be good or not. I know that I am more concerned with his politics than his skin

well he def has my vote! Though the government has its ways of making things they way they want as I so believed happened with the last presidential election. So I believe, and maybe Im not being positive, but even if he had all the votesin the world, if certain individuals do not ant him in then he won't be in. Again, sorry to be negative about it all

never get voted in...not just because he is black(I do think one day we will have a black president and quite possibly end up with a female one)...but look at the dude's name OBAMA, looks too much like OSAMA and the majority of America lives in a media-spun state of fear in their redneck worlds and they won't be voting for anyone that has a name anywhere close to OSAMA

I have never heard of him...and in my opinion looks very young...However I being a "white person" I hate it when people label us... would never look at someones skin color or nationality when making a descision to vote...however I also would be ready for a woman president...so I guess the two go together.

I feel it is high time for something different.
I don't think the racial boundaries are weak enough
for this kind of a change. You never really know.
Minorities need to get more involved with politics.
We need to take a more pro-active position when it comes to our needs being met. If we don't stand for us together, who will?
Women also need to play a bigger role.
I myself have grown tired of the same old kind of
candidate.
Older,rich, white guys.
