How to accept criticism with grace

Constructive criticism is good for us in order to be a better person. The problem is we tend to defend ourselves or worse to lash back everytime we heard any critics to ourselves. I feel it's human nature to feel hurt or demoralize when we received critics. How do you usually handle criticism?

I think the main thing to do is not show that the person who has offered criticism not know they have upset you or even ruffled your feathers, so I think a good line is to say " why thank you, I will take that on board" even though you would like to pick out a good negative to throw back to them, I think it is nice to stay cool, calm and in control.

That is a very good suggestion. But easier said than done though. It's hard to act calm when you feel like defending yourself all the time. Good comment

Yes it is not easy but as you get older you don't really give a damn what people say and you learn to accept everything with the attitude of I am not going to let you know I am hurting... :)

I would usually feel hurt or annoyed when someone criticise me. However when I cool down, I would do soul-searching.
