why the Myanmar military government did that!

from zaobao.com,we know the Myanmar military government has killed 9 person,and thousands of person had put in prison,there's lots of burmese,why did they do that?are they carzy?we know we should have freedom

There's rumours that there's a split in the military and even that there's been a coup amongst the leaders. People are hoping that the soliders will refuse to carry out more orders to attack the monks and switch to the demonstrators side
