I Still Think Yuwie Is Full Of It--

Okay I just know I'm going to get one MyLotter on my case for this and you know who you are...LOL
I had made my discussion sometime ago how I thought Yuwie was full of crap. I haven't ditched this site completely but I think I can safely say this place might be losing the interest of a lot of people. And no!! It has nothing to do with money, but how friggin' slow this place is. Now I do happen to have high-speed DSL..so I can't blame that..yikes I hate to think what people are going through if they have dial up. And yes, I know that they might be slow since it's a very fast growing site...but that's no excuse.
MyLot has so many more people on it and using it daily...but I've NEVER have logged in, or have a page come up and found a message "under maintenance" or had problems logging in, or changing things on my profile page, and on and on and on. So many times I want to leave comments to people or messages to everyone on my friends list there and it's like the da*m thing freezes up on me...I have to shut down my computer then reboot..so I just plain give up at times.
So is it just me? Or are others having problems with Yuwie and are losing interest? I was even amazed when one Yuwie member suggested the idea for everyone to delete their account and sign up under him...So all is not NICE at Yuwie.

No you aren't the only one going through the sluggishness that is Yuwie. I am as well and I myself have Highspeed internet. Last I heard they were suppose to be fixing the problem, but really they should have planned ahead for this sort of thing, before ever opening the site.
I still go to Yuwie, but to me to many are more worried about the money aspect and trying to get that all mighty "page view" that it's turning Yuwie into the net's biggest popularity contest. I'm not in high school anymore, and don't plan to be going back to high school anytime soon.

In my view of things it's just a common sense sort of deal. Of course if one combines two of the most popular things, social networking and the possibility of making money, it's gonna draw in the crowds. So they should have already anticipated this sort of thing.
Yes, I already know about server problems, and blah,blah..etc..but those can be planned ahead for as well, by having more backup systems and the like. Heck, even I, one who doesn't know that much about computers, etc...knows that one should always plan ahead when going into any sort of business op., trip, what have you.

I'm gonna have to agree. There is always something when I try to post a comment there. I've been on mylot for over a year an yuwie for about a month and I have two refferals there and no referrals here and I thought I would have more money with that site but I do much better here. the friends are so fake there they just care about page views. I made a club and plenty have joined by few participate in discussions. I don't think anyone really knows what is going on on that site. I like here you can see daily earnings and there you have to wait till the payout to know. I love reading discussions and answering here. I really don't care about the amount but it makes it fun. I don't care what anyone says you can't get a income off of A thousand refferals. I think the two referrals i had doesn't mess with it much at all. people are so selfish. I also don't feel comfortable getting requests from young teens. If myspace paid it's users it would opperate just the same.

I'm having problems because as you mentioned they are VERY slow. But I still generally love the place. I don't know why but I just do. I'm hanging in there for now anyway LOL. I guess I'm not really online though enough for it to really make me mad.

Oh it is slow - no doubt about it. Sometimes I just give up on it for the moment then go back later :)
But I understand what you're saying.

Well I think it's because I'm involved with so many other things each day, that time does become very precious to me..so it just seems to darn slow for me :(

Hey pw,
I just joined yuwie & it's so much like myspace I don't know how successful I'll be b/c I didn't stay w/ myspace long-it was too much work,it takes so long to choose graphics that are appropriate & I'm not too sure about how exactly they pay-at least here we get our earnings updated daily. I'm willing to give a shot but like I say I'm sure if it's really gonna make me any money?????

I know, but they should have anticipated so many people joining so fast BEFORE setting up "shop"--since they did such a promo thing to attract people they should have realized the popularity of the site..think it was a bit of poor planning on their part

Whenever you have a website attract 100,000 users in 2 months you are going to have some server problems keeping up with the growth.
Y Guy apologized and said they have learned a good lesson and are planning for the future with the latest upgrades.
You should find Yuwie going at full speed very soon. Upgrades should be finished by this week-end.

I've given Yuwie a big miss too. It doesn't do anything for me. I love Mylot. I love to post and respond, keep track of my friends, read their stories and learn about their joy and their pet peeves etc.
I find the other place difficult to navigate and I still can't figure out why anyone would want to join or prefers to be there than here.
I accidently found messages and friend requests that I didn't know were there and it's possible a few friends have dropped me because of that. Too bad.

How dare you bash Yuwie you so and so blankety blank !!! LMAO just kidding. I like it there. I like the clubs and seeing all the pages people put so much time in to. I do hate the speed, although it has been better for me the past 2 days. Loading very quickly. I will stick it out for as long as I have interest. I lose interest in things. I already have cut way down here, due to some nastiness, Mora is ok, and other places. But I will bop in and out of wherever just to pass the time and stay connected with certain friends.. and you know who you are !!! LMAO

Wow! I haven't actually visited the site yet, so I can't say. But I'm surprised to hear all this -- Up till now, I've only heard good things about it. I like myLot cuz it's really fast. I'm on dial-up & some of the other sites just kill me as I watch the clock & wait, yawning while the sands of time move slowly across my screen. :(

Actually I joined it few days ago because of a friend from Mylot. She suggested me to join Yuwie. Since she is my friend and I trust her. I joined this website. Frankly, I am just trying to make it better but I have no idea how much I can earn this month. If it pays well, perhaps it will give me much more energy to it. I am not satisfied with this site's speed. Sometimes I get errors because of it.

I have noticed that it has been slow there sometimes but usually I have no problem. I think it might depend on the time of day you use it too. They are a new and growing site, myLot is older so it has had more time to switch servers and such plus Yuwie hosts more images than myLot does and bigger ones too as well as graphics so that does eat up server space easily. I had read on their blog that they are getting a new server and they did switch all their images to another server a few weeks ago. I think with that kind of site there will be issues, I have the same exact problems with Myspace and I've been on it for over 2 years.

Yuwie never had my interest. I attempted to get involved in the website but the interface does make the site slower than myLot. On top of that, I just think Facebook is better than Yuwie. Sure you make money but all you can really do is send messages, post in their profile, reply to their pictures. In terms of community, Facebook is an epidemic. In terms of making money and enjoying oneself at the same time participating in an internet community, myLot takes the win for me.

They should have anticipated that they would grow so fast...looks like they didn't do their "homework" as far as a business set up

I think the reason is that yuwie is so much more complex than here.
We have so much more to do on that site and it does take up so much more time. I went on there tonight and they have shut the site down for maintenance so hopefully it will be running smoother again soon.
I do enjoy going on Yuwie as it a more personal site and people who I met on Mylot I have now had the chance to know better on yuwie. It can be slow at times, but it is a site worth sticking to. I love the blogs people make and their profile pages are so interesting. If mylot allowed us to personalise our profile pages more, this site could give us the opportunity to meet and befriend those who share the same interests as ourselves.
I say this as I am not here for the money side of things, and I suppose those who are will see Mylot as a better site to be on.
If you want a laugh ..I earnt $0.35 on Yuwie for the month, where I can earn that in a day here.

I don't think so...there are a lot more sites just as complex and they're not as slow...And I do find that they shut down an awful lot. Oh, gee you earned 35-cents at Yuwie, wow that was more than me, I only earned 27-cents..LOL
One can personalize their page here too..I've seen some really fantastic profile pages every bit as dazzling as the ones at Yuwie...I did a little tweeking here myself to add some pizzaz to my page...LOL

I am also a Yuwie member, though I won't be leaving myLot either. As far as Yuwie being slow and the errors we have been getting, this is supposed to be fixed this weekend when they upgrade the servers. I guess we will have to wait and see. I haven't had any problems with my computer freezing up or anything like that though. I don't know who suggested that everyone delete their account and sign up under him, but that is a pretty underhanded tactic for anyone to try to pull. I don't think that the site admin would put up with that if they knew about it.

They are apparently working on the site tonight because I have gotten a "site under maintenance" page a couple of times tonight, then it works fine for a bit before it does it again. I guess I'll see what it is like tomorrow before passing any judgments.

Well I have been having problems lately, as I thought it was just me, but they are moving so slow. Worse than myspace. I think they really have to upgrade the system better to accomadate all the new folks signing up. I am however getting a little bored with the site. My friend told me I would make some good money there, but after last months stats. I don't know. Alot of people on there are trying to sell their sites, and get people to sign up. They also don't return comments etc. I guess I was wrong about the site. I may just quit it and call it a day. It is not very interacting. Yes we leave comments etc., but we don't really know anyone, unless they are friends of ours or friends from mylot. I have tried to get my friends to sign up, but alas they won't. So I hear you on "all is not nice on Yumie". I would rather spend my time here at mylot!!!

There are so many times I want to reciprocate and leave a comment back to one of my friends there --including you, when they leave me a comment, but the waiting time is ridiculous...Then forget trying to do anything else there...I might for instance be able to log on, but that's about it. I can't get to my control panel..yeesh

Hi pyewacket, I know what you mean. If I had dial up, I would never be able to survive yuwie. Now I can't even sign in today. I was on this morning, but then I got the error message and can't sign back in. I am hoping this is a problem they will fix soon.
In the meantime, I am hoping to find interesting discussions here. That is how I deal with yuwie in the first place when they are slow. I have both mylot and yuwie open and go back and forth.:)

carmelanirel, I do the very same thing. I have mylot open and maybe another program I like to use, so between the three I am doing something productive, I will open the page in yuwie, then come to mylot and find a discussion to respond to, when I am finished I go to yuwie to the page that has now been opened. I mulittask all of the time. I like Yuwie. Yes I had a hard time figuring out how to set up and communicate. I had to ask my 13 year old that is a member of myspace to help me. Once I knew what I was doing and how to find my friends I was hooked.
