What do you think can be done and by who, do you think military action of a combined world force?
I really feel that the Burmese people need some type of intervention to oust there Government and bring Democracy to them, but how should it be done, I have no idea what the best option would be for them, if you introduce sanctions this effects the people you are trying to help, if you use force what type of effect will it have on the Burmese people and will they want it?
What are your views?

Military action may not be the right thing but I think the world needs to find a way to deal with the situation in Burma. For far too long the world has allowed the Thugs in Burma get away with murder and I think the best thing that's happened is the fact that the world is finally taking notice of these guys.
The fact that most of the demonstators are Buddhist Monks is significant. Burma is primarily a Buddhist country and the monks are at the highest pinnacle of society. Shooting them in cold blood will not go down well with a population that has already taken more abuse than in most places. Hopefully the monks will have the same affect in Burma the same way that the Catholic Church had in the Philipines when Marcos was deposed.
Another positive sign in the fact that Burma's neighbours, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is finally speaking out against the attrocities. For far too long, ASEAN has been something of an old dictators club that took pride in the principle of "Non Interference" The fact that ASEAN is speaking out against the attrocities is a step in the right direction and the world needs to push ASEAN to take a more active role in dealing with one of its own.
As for the USA and China, this could be interesting. America should realise that humans exist outside its own continent and in the Middle East. CHina faces interesting times - on one hand it needs to project a good image for the 2008 Olympics but it can't sanction things that it has been guilty of too.
So, we shall wait and see and God willing the world will work more closely together to deal with a bunch of thugs we've endured for far too long.

I totally agree with you and I hope the world does not just sit there and watch and finally acts on the burmese people repressive regime and that the people rise up and overthrow there government.
