In earlier ages, teachers were involved to grow the student such that they would respect teachers. But now a days, due to professionalism teachers value is becoming reduced. Now the relationship between students and teachers depends upon money only. what is your responses?

I get paid diddly squat, I get hounded about test scores and what I'm doing to keep the school's reputation up....but I form an excellent relationship with my students, I care about their well-being, and I take time to let them KNOW I care.
If teaching is your calling, you'll form positive relationships with students no matter what.

I don't think so. You can't do any job without forming a relationship with the people you are working with. I happen to work with 11 year olds, so I form a relationship with them. It is an appropriate relationship. They know I am there for them, but I am not their friend. There's a fine line that must be established.

I can not quite figure out where you are trying to go with this. Is it a bad thing that teachers are better prepared when they enter the teaching profession? No, I do not think so. Has this somehow reduced the value of teachers? I do not know of any teachers who are teaching because of the money. It is probably the most underpaid profession there is. If I am missing the idea here please let me know. I am a teacher and consider myself a professional. I do not think that is a bad thing.

I really don't believe that student-teacher relationship is only because of money. Students go to school because they value education and teachers will not become teachers unless they have a "calling" for that profession. They will not be teachers for long if they don't like the profession as it is a very difficult one. I have already graduated college but I still respect my previous professors, I even respect kindergarten teachers of my kids. Theirs is one noble profession because learning starts with them, they are very instrumental in shaping the person's character thus they deserve respect :)

i told about profeesionalism. do you know, most of the western contries arrange professional degree courses related to upgradation of teacher. those courses tend to let the teacher be a professional one. and realy most of the teacher become such professional that students teacher students relationship stands by money only.
