Do you have nightmares? What do you think they mean?

I do very occasionally but not too often. I usually have them when I am under too much stress and the stress kind of get into the dream. Like one time I remember I was in a taxi and it was jumping off the bridge and getting itself into the water, I woke up sweating. But I am not too worried about it, because in our sayings, we say that the dream and the reality is always the opposite!

Some dreams can seem so real, that's the scary part. I've never heard of that saying of them being the opposite but I hope it's true.

I have bad dreams and nightmares often. I think they come from anxiety and unresolved issues in my awake life.

if i have a bad dream it's often the same one- I'm in a house, supposedly mine but nothing like it. I'm trying to hide from someone who wants to harm me. i go into a bedroom and in this room I find a secret door that leads to another room that I've never come across before and can't possibly really be there, I hide in there anyway, and this is where i wake up, scared, chest tight. It feels like a real threat. I haven't a clue what it means, except maybe it's as simple as i want more space.

I think bad dreams are part of your subconscience. I think they stem from our insecurities. I do think that some of it could just be for our own sick entertainment.

I am not sure what they mean, but yes I have them quite regularly. My hubby will just try to wake me and tell me it's ok, or he'll say, you're having a bad dream. I think stress can contribute to it, I have dreams about my loved ones, or about things from my past, people I have known from a long time ago. Funny how it goes away, usually, in the morning. However, I have had dreams that would really stay with me all day and bug me.

I'm the same way, they're usually about loved ones or things from my past or people from my past and most of the times I forget but then there are those that really stick with me. Lately those are the kind I have on a daily basis, for weeks now. The only thing I can really think of is that it all started the night of the anniversary of 9/11 and they are the same type of dreams as I had then.
