Deer meat

I grew up with venison. My dad still goes hunting 3 times a year. I do not really care for the taste of venison. I do like venison jerky though. I have some ground venison in the freezer right now, but I never use it.

Nope. Can't stand the stuff. Hubby loves it and I've cooked it for him but I will starve before I'll even try it. I don't know if it's the taste or the thought of poor little bambi or a combo of both but I don't ever see it happening. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I love deer meat of any kind, but my favorite is chicken fried deer steak with biscuits and gravy... Oh, my, the thought makes me hungry!

Hi Tiff, I can do sausage and jerky as well as some steaks, but the hamburger is just gross! lol It has that wild taste to me, if anyone has eaten any wild game they know what Im talking about. You can find the taste in anything that has not been processed through a retail chain. Unless I have just gotten ahold of some bad deer hamburger mix. Seems like I have gotten if from a few different places and they all taste the same. I like making stew or soup with some deer stakes. The jerky I could just eat all day long. Mmmm its so good. I haven't tasted any deer meat in my entire life yet. It is not available here in our country. maybe there is in some resto, but I dunno where. But in the wet market, you can not find it. Even in supermarkets. But if I will be given a chance to taste it, I will. Just to have a try and see for myself it is really taste good.

I like deer meat,it's delicious,but I haven't eaten deer sausage yet. Do you like wild boar meat? It is taste good too,but is rare now.

I've never had deer meat and didn't know people did. Is deer meat common in your part?

Oh I love deer meat! I just dont like when the hunters ignore our signs and hunt on our land :-/ that REALLY ticks me off...but I've had both Deer and Moose meat and its yummy!! As for jerky though, I cant stand ANY jerky *gags*

I wouldn't go out and kill myself a deer to get some, but if it is served, I'll eat and enjoy it. Mostly I've had it like hamburger. I grew up on a goat farm and we always ate goat. I love it, but the hubby won't even take a taste. I don't think he'd go for deer either.

Roasts are good if you put a little vinegar in the oil as you sear it - then put in oven and bake. You can do the same thing with the deer steaks. I also sprinkle deer steaks with garlic salt and cook them medium rare. VERY GOOD and tender.

I never tried that deer meat. Is it good? I wanna try someday but it makes me feel weird to eat deer meat but im curious though what it taste like?Is it the same with meat of pork or chicken?
