Putting pictues online

Do you ask peoples permission before putting their pictures online? For example when you post pictures to myspace or yuwie or other public online sites where anyone can see that include you and other people in the same pictue. I like to have my privacy. I only have pics up at two sites and they are distorted so you really can't make out my face. I would not put pictures of my friends and me in the same picture online because I don't know how they would feel about it. I won't give out someone else's phone number without their permission so I sort of see it the same way with pictures.

I feel the same as you. I have never posted a picture with someone else in it even though it sometimes means not being able to post some really good pictures.

This reminds me actually of a situation where my old job posted pictures of the staff on their website. I did not like that at all. I didn't mind that our pictures were on the wall in the building but I was not given the option of having a say about my picture being on their website. I did voice my concern and luckily the website was changed and pictures were taken down(not because of me but it was just a coincidence)

Hi Dreamy1, I think the same way as you do. If I place the picture of someone else I always ask permission or not do it at all. We never know how people might feel about it. Here I placed 1 photo on which is my father but I asked him before I did that and he was ok with it ;) Other than that there are only photos with no people tha I know off or myself only.

Same thing to me. I dont give out someone phone number without their permission, even If I have a site that can load up picture... then I would love to ask first before I put someone picture there. I have some bad experience once when My friend posted my picture on her site and they were leave a lot of comments, it was not a bad comments but I was so shocked to see that. I was not mad but I feel that I am too easy on this one. My friend realized that I am happy with this posting so she said Sorry to me. I understand that is not a big deal but I dont feel it is right to do that.

I do ask people permission. My sister is on myspace and has a lot of pics of herself up but I still ask if she minds if I post one of me and her. I don't like when people put my pic up without asking so I always ask.
I put my own pics up and, on one professional site where I work, I have a family photo, but I don't put up a lot of my kids even though they are 21 and 17. I just....don't.
I definitely ask anyone who I want to post except for celebs that I may have met or whatever. I assume they expect the pic to be up somewhere. Otherwise, yep, just as with a phone number, I ask permission to post a pic.

I don't put anyone's pictures online without asking the permission. I don't like people who put my pics online either. Once my friend put my picture on Myspace without my permission. It made me unhappy. Only pictures not involved privacy would be put online by me.

I don't normally put pictures in all my online programs except friendster because I made exclusive only for close freinds and family members. I want to ut some mystery on how i really looks like. lol
