Should marijuana be made legal?

So what do you think? With our over crowded jails, and people spending decades in jail over weed, but only years for rape. Kids having a criminal record for something that they say 40.1% of the entire US population has used. Some people think that making it legal would help bring down the amount of children using it. Growth of weed over the last 25 years has become the most widely produced drug, and our nations largest cash crop at an estimated 35.8 billion dollars. So doesn't that show that despite the legal systems effort to eradicate marijuana they have been unsuccessful. So wouldn't that mean that making it legal would help to provide revenue for law enforcement, education, and treatment of the drug?
Now I'm not saying that I think anybody should be allowed to used it, I certainly don't want my 9yr. old son getting high. But wouldn't it make more sense to legalize it and make laws about how, when, and who can use it??
So what do you think?

Hi there, well I live in The Netherlands and here it is legal. I can understand your point of view about you not wanting your son getting high. I feel the same way (about my children). But if it was not legal they would still find a way to get it. So I don't think it would make a big difference
