Hi everyone! I need your help on how could I take care of my voice. I will start my training on Monday as a Call Center Agent and as we all know, voice is really essential in that kind of industry. I want to avoid having a sore throat and losing my voice. If you have any suggestions please feel free to post here. I will truly appreciate it. Thanks a lot! =)

Hi Brew, I dont think you will have much to worry about really. I have been a Call Center Agent in the past and I didnt loose my voice, or get a sore throat. Im sure you will however have a dry throat or mouth. lol In that case just keep fluids on your desk and be sure and take a drink between calls. Im sure you will have time to do that. In my experience, you wont be getting calls back to back all day long. You will have some down time. Good luck on your new job! I hope that you enjoy the work! Bay xx

No problem Brew, Training is probably the hardest part lol and the most boring part of it all too. I worked for a cellular company and had to endure 30 days of training. Dont get me wrong it was neat learning all that stuff, but I was ready to take calls like you! lol Just ask, and if I can Ill give you what advice I have. Bay xx

Thanks a lot Bay! We are supposed to be on training for six weeks. Last week was fun, it is just conversational skills training so we didn't have much to memorize. This week is our product training and you are right, it is boring and the exams are tough. I'm really glad my fellow trainees are really fun to be with. They are always making jokes and we are helping each other so that no one would lagged =) Take care always!

Don't rpar (can whisper and speak slowly),drink warm boiled water often Oh yes, tell you a small key When you drinking water, need eager one drink fast, getting best, can include water in mouth first, the then slow and slow one is annexed. Because when you feel very thirsty , you may be in all desperation to drink water down straight. However,it is of no use not to forget to drink down water fast in big mouthfuls. Let water flow through the throat slowly and slowly, can let the throat protected even more.

I haven't heard that before, thanks kita333. Most of the time I drink water straight down, I'll try to make it a habit to drink water slowly =)

Hi ajyukie15! I've actually stopped drinking cold water recently because I'm not feeling so well. I'm glad to hear from you that it is the right thing to do. I will follow your advice, I'll just seldom drink cold water and I'll avoid eating chocolates. Thank you so much!

A friend of mine said that you should use a sauna kind of room and use hot air to help your voice. I don't know if it's true, but she said that warmness from a sauna helps your voice stay clear and so it doesn't get hoarse or something.
