We all know truth sometimes hurts, e.g. someone you love does not like you, or even hate you. At such circumstances, which would you like to hear or know, the truth or a white lie?
The truth will hurt, while the white lie will make you feel better and eventually you will forget about it. But a lie is a lie, it is not true.
so people, what would you prefer??
Personally I perfer to know the truth, no matter how bad it could be. but I don't know what others may perfer, and I don't want to hurt them. Should I give white lies??

I would prefer truth than a white lie becuse once you speak of the truth, the burden from your mind is removed, then you can feel yourself free and think atleast i have done the right thing, but always delay the truth to the right occassion,if its a painful truth ,still speak out when it would give less pain ,still dont LIE becuse lie is always a lie and when someone knows the truth after you lie ,remember there is no better pain than that, so i would prefer to speak truth always

truth is the best but not in all cases..sometimes you just have to lie to..sometimes you do that to save somebody's life..and yes, truth really hurts but you just have to live with it..and get on with your life.at least they're being truthful with you..i dont disagree with telling white lies or plain lies...because there are really times when you really have to lie, it depends on the situation..and when lying, just remember that the best lie is the one that sticks closest to the truth!!^_^

I think that in order not to hurt anybody, it is still better not to tell the truth but a white lie that you have mentioned. I do the same in order to make the person feel good. You know, when someone gets to know the truth from you, you will see how wild he/she will behave without being able to control himself/herself, which could make the matter worse. Therefore I think that it is better to tell a white lie without getting himeself hurt.

For me it really depends on what it is about. If it's about relationships or anything remotely serious I would tell the truth regardless of the consequences and I'd expect the same thing back. But I do tell white lies on occasion for things that aren't really important, like someone asking me to go out somewhere and I don't feel like going at that time.

Well,I prefer white lie.Bcoz I think in the white lie there is truth more then 75%.Ofcourse truth is truth. But I think it effects very much and become very painful to pass through it.

I definitely would like to hear the truth. No matter how hurtful the truth is, I still would like to hear it. I guess it is just a matter of how you would say it to others, if you say it in a rude manner, then others will not take the truth kindly but if you say it in a constructive way, then others might appreciate your truthfulness. :)

Why lie and risk something.
And why risk it for certain by hurting someone.
You don't have to hurt anyone just to declare the truth.
Try other methods of saying what you want.
Supposing the girlfriend looks horrific in a particular dress, then tell her the dress does suit her but another alternative is better.
On introducing an idea alien to her, try asking her about simi;ar ideas. let both sides speak their mind and the result could be a joyful agrrement.
If you just want to breakup, then try to set that straight by giving a convincing enough alibi.
Be diplomatic and you can win big time.
