Am working in a Call Center for 5 years now and you know I feel bored and feel deserted. In a Call Center nature you've been working for 5-6 days a week, patience is the only attitude you may require to yourself. Same description of work, task and of course concerns you'll handle everyday...sucks! it's really boring for me now,..I want to shift another kind of job,..but i'm not prepared yet...I don't know what will I do first, I don't know if I could find a better job outside(out of the country)...what do you think is the better way to do if you are not happy with your work or with your job? Is it Vacation? Find another job? I really don't know what to do now,..help

First, ask yourself what you really wanted. You will keep on running in circles endlessly if you don't have a target in mind to begin with. Are you staying for money? For promotion? For technical experience? Think about it. It' really amazing that you stayed working for the company for five years. Such an incredible record. Not all people here in the Philippines can stay in a company for that long. I worked for a call center industry for a year and a half. I moved to another BPO but can no longer be considered as a call center. I accepted the offer and moved no matter how I enjoy being with the previous company because the company I'm currently working for right now is multinational oil company. It's basically more of career advancement and I can feel that I am currently on the right track. Vacation won't help enough I'm telling you. What you need to have all the time is passion to continue. If you think you're not improving anymore in any case you're still doing the same old job then you might as well contemplate. Being mediocre is really pathetic, I can imagine that. If I were you, talk to your supervisor and tell him or her how she feels. IF you think you need a different task or added task to do so as to have variations, tell her/him. You might as well be honest. I'm pretty sure there's a lot openings within y our company for promotion so you might as well take that into consideration. If you plan to work abroad, then you might as well start saving harder in any case you need to pay for something required to work overseas. But make sure to think things over, weigh things over. Don't be too impulsive. You might regret what you choose to do and there's no turning back. Just my two cents. Cheers.

For call center workers, i think when you have stayed longer than a year or so in there, it will be hard to find another one that is totally not related to BPO, or call centers. i am working in a call center for 6 years now too. i find my task hard, but i see myself grow in the company, at least a bit. i was promoted 2x already. i am now a supervisor for reports services. It is stressful, but nothing is more stressful than answering calls every day for 8 hours! i answered calls for 2 years. im glad i was over it now.
