Does your pet tell you when it's bedtime or naptime? Do they rub, bark or harass you if you don't go when they want you to?
Our cat, Morgana, is like that. When she is ready for me to go take a nap or go to bed at night, she will rub on my legs...meow at me...and if all else fails, she will get on my desk and walk back and forth in front of my pc so I can't see anything. The minute I head for bed, she runs in and as soon as I am laying down she gets up on the bed and curls up...usually between my knees or on top of my feet. She also knows by my breathing as soon as I'm awake and will start playing with my feet. If I'm not awake by 6am she will stuff her little head under the covers and nip my feet till I get up. She is something else. She doesn't do all this to Hubby...but it's ok...I don't mind.
Is your pet like this? By the way, the pic below is our Morgana...isn't she big. This was taken awhile back.

When Jessie was alive, she would whimper until she got us to go to bed. She did not have a bed, persae, but she would prefer to sleep on the bed with us, between us. I did not like that, because we were trying to have a baby, so I would put her on the floor.
Then we would be cuddling and she would jump right between us again. It was frustrating, to say the least.

My dog is a sleeper. Once the kids are gone for school I can never find her. Then I realize that she likes to sleep in my sons bed and there she is. In the night when she is ready for bed, she will go to the door to be let outside. When she comes back in she goes right to her kennel.

Oh that is so funny. My dog falls asleep in our living room. If I have to go into my bedroom for anything, he races infront of me and jumps in bed. He gets mad when I walk back out. Then when I am actually going to bed, he doesn't budge off the couch. I have to pick him up and carry him to bed. He thinks he's a baby.

My cat, Misu, let's us know when it's time for her to go to bed. She goes to bed at 10 every night and gets treats before she goes upstairs into the spare bedroom to sleep. About 5 minutes till 10 she'll come by and sit in front of me and then stare at the clock on the wall, lol. She'll rub and rub at my legs until I get up so she can run upstairs and have her treats before bed. Silly kitty!

I loved the photo of your cat...but couldn't leave a comment because we are not friends. Still a great image of a cozy, cuddly cat! Thanks for including it!

Aww thanks, that's really sweet. She's a silly kitty and gets attached to the oddest things and once she decides their hers she'll defend them to the end, lol. This week her obsession is a shoe box she barely fits in, lol.

Your cat: Morgana: sound like my cat Missy..She will plop right down on my hands ..so I can't type any more if I am at the keyboard..or if that doesn't work she will stand on her hind legs, stretch out, put her paws on my lap and meow, meow meow; and no cowardly meow but a strong boisterous meow..and repetative !

My kitty, Prance, is usually yelling at me around 9pm to go to bed, whether I'm ready to or not. She will run into the bedroom, sit on the bed, look at me and meow as loudly as she can. If I don't follow her in, she will run to where I'm at, meow, and then run back into the bedroom. This will go on for about a half hour until I finally give in and crawl into bed. Then, to get back at me for not going to bed at the right time, she will stretch out completely across my pillow and leave me a teeny corner for my head. LOL

Banjo does that when he wants something to eat. Nine times out of ten he has food already. Sometimes, he just comes in, sits next to me and looks at me, I have a little loving chat to him then he takes himself off.
He's usually not too bad letting me share MY bed with him but last night he joined me late and there wasn't enough room for him. It was my oh so soft tummy he sank his claws into when he began to slide off the bed...Ouchy!

I wonder if it is more of a female thing? I have two male cats that don't seem to care when we go to bed, but my female did. She would come and get me and remind me it was time. She rubbed my legs, or jumped into my lap and stared at me! Since we have a cat door, she didn't wake me up, thank goodness!

Both the animals in our house that have decided they are mine do this to some degree. My dog doesn't do much other than look at me mournfully. But my cat thinks she knows when it's time for me to sleep and wake up. She does this pawing, digging at you thing, with just a little claw out. It's kinda cute. Except when I'm sound asleep. She does it when she wants snuggles too. If I'm on the computer she'll do that and when I have a chair that lets her she'll curl up against my back and go to sleep.
She gives me rude looks if I move. I started using a pillow for my back and she was very annoyed to find that her cuddle spot was full. And now I have a high back chair because the other needs repair, I'm sure she's disgusted with me over that.
If she's in the mood to cuddle and I take my hand off her for a few seconds, she starts in with the digging at me thing. My dog (who thinks he's starved for attention) does a similar pawing thing if I take my hand away for a few seconds, or let my hand rest on him instead of petting him "properly." With him it's just a single possessive paw though. He also does this really cute trying to get one inch closer thing, I think he'd like to climb on me, but he's really heavy and has balance issues, so he settles for getting that one half inch closer.
Schmoo, my dog also seems to have an almost psychic "she's awake" sense. And will appear just as I'm starting to wake up. He also sometimes stares me awake. I don't know if people know what I mean by this, but little kids do it to. Stand over or next to a sleeping person and stare with intent and they usually wake up.

Oh, I forgot, one of the other dogs tries to herd one of my roommates into bed when he thinks it's bed time...In his mind herding means running in circles around the person. He's kinda a confusing dog, because his signals for bedtime, feed me, and I need to pee, are all pretty similar. Although, if he gets desperate to go out for a pee, he'll half climb up on you as a sort of "if you don't take me out now, I'm going to pee on you," thing.

My two cats never do this as they never know when I am going to bed. They play on this though and miaow at me for food constantly. I often find myself telling them that if I was in bed now they would not keep getting these extra feeds!!!
I am sure they are in cahoots with each other as when I decide I will feed them no more, they start fighting like teenage siblings!!LOL and as their parent, what do I do...yes I give in and feed them!!LOL

My pets don't tell me it's time to go to bed. but they certainly tell me when it's time to EAT! The dogs wake me up at the latest, by 7AM to be fed in the morning. And they start to make a fuss as soon as I get home from work for dinner. The cat only makes noise when his litter box is dirty, or when his feeder is empty, and he meows like there is a fire in the house or something. Pets are fun, and they all have their own quirks.

MY pets don't tell me much about it being bedtime, however they have a lot to say when it's time to wake up :):) Tazz - my dog - specially because he wants to go for his morning walk. But if hubby wakes up first and takes him, then my cats will come to wake me up:)

How Kewl to have another chance to chat about our spoiled, pampered felines. Your cat sounds like she you quite well trained...and knows the routines to best get your attention. Who says they cannot reason things out and train US how to treat THEM. Morgana is a cutie patootie alright..and those lovely white socks are really precious on her darker body. I commented and rated your photo with a plus...of course!
Our cats do let us know when they want to snuggle, or have attention at any time of the day. Like Morgana, they rub up against my legs and if I am too involved in my thought process on the computer to notice then they begin doing things that will bet my attention. They climb up on the bookshelf over my desk and stare down at me. Other times they will knock over a basket of feathers and spread them all over the floor. Other times they will climb on another bookshelf and knock my collectibles over with a big bang.
They never do any of these things any other time...only when it is bedtime or snuggle time on THEIR clock. So yes, our cats have trained us how to treat them...and we do meet them at their point of need because like Morgana..they are so irresistibly cute and cuddly. I included a photo of one of our 5 cats..Nexus she is the most quiet of all of them. You haven't seen her before...and darker like your Morgana.
Fun discussion...and good to be chatting with you here as well. Take care twoey...I value our connection.

Hi Twoey yes my cat CoCo is like that ever since I was pregnant with my 16 month old...He lays on the floor right near me meowing at me once in awhile or he hops up on my lap to get affectionate and when I head for bed he stops and when he thinks that I'm sleeping he hops up on the bed between my husbands legs and mine...If I go to the washroom he follows me and back and forth til I go to bed lol...Our cats look VERY much alike the only difference is my CoCo has a small hardly notciable white stripe between his eyes and one black paw padding on his right paw.

I had a cocker spaniel who loved to go for rides but once we're at our destination for a while, she let me know when it was time to go home. LOL She would stare at me and if I didn't pay attention to her she'd paw at my leg. She was such a sweet natured dog and is very much missed. She went home almost a year ago. Her name is Rainbow.
