What would you do?

Suppose several gunmen came into the bank you were in and started taking people hostage. One of them was a man who was a father of two and a husband. One gunman said he'd kill the man if no one offered to take his place. Would you take his place?

Realistically and rationally, I don't think so... I have my own family and I would not want them to find out that I got shot in the bank. That would not be a good story. There are times to be a hero but only if you know what you are doing. If you are just another normal bank customer, then I don't think that you could be a sudden hero.
Anyway, that is just my opinion... Cheers!

Hero complexes get people killed and make criminals either feel more powerful or lose it. Neither is a good thing.

Now do you mean take his place just as a hostage, or actually get shot? I would def. take his place as a hostage, with no hesitation. But being shot...I have family too, and I'm not saying I wouldn't. I'm just saying I would be less likely to jump at the chance to get shot X.X
But I would def. take his place as a hostage! No questions asked.

If I was not the mother of two myself, I would, gladly. But, I would have to think of My own children first, I am all they have!
