My parents had one, but sold it. They had a marriot one, so they sold it for my parents. It is very hard to sell the timeshare if the company won't do it for you.

We have considered contacting the companies but not sure how to do that. For the most part the contact people who sell are there for that purpose only and will tell you anything you want to hear. But we will keep trying.

Yes, my husband and I bought some timeshares with Trendwest/Worldmark, the Club a few years ago. There was a point that we decided that we want to sell it, and discovered that is almost virtually worthless. Most brokers will give you so little value for it, that if you do, you will still owe more. I have to admit we regretted purchasing it especially that we don't really used it that much. So we are stuck with something that is expensive but has really no resale value. So, yes, I agree with you when you say it is almost impossible to sell it without losing a major sum of money.

Well we have to be the worlds biggest suckers. We fell for the incredible value thing three times. Yea! And are we sorry.
The one thing that ties them all together is the use of points with RCI. We have taken advantage of that but not sure it is worth it.
Of course there are other companies out there trying to take your money with great promises with the ease of selling them. Use the keyword “timeshare resale” and you will find more that you can check out. If only we had known that we could have had ours for a quarter of original cost or less. Or better yet let them go to the next customer. I even saw one on e-bay that sold for $2.00.....of course it may not have been worth more than that. Now that is desperate!

You could always rent out your week for other people to use. :) I'm not sure how you do that....
We own Worldmark credits but we get good use out of it. :) In fact I'd like to buy more credits. Not until the house is paid off.

The problem with renting is finding someone to rent to. If you ever decide you would like to rent a week in either Las Vegas, Hawaii, or Branson, Mo. contact us and have we got a deal for you. LOL
In order to make renting pay off for you week you have to ask for way too much money. But we sure could work with you.

Oh yes there are a lot of companies out there who will be very happy to sell or rent your timeshare. Only problem is all of them want money up front, to the tune of as much as
$700.00. So if you give it to them you may as well kiss it goodbye. Ebay is an option but you need to be ready to sell very cheap. I saw one selling for $2.00. That was the "buy it now" offer. That is almost like paying them to take it. LOL
Thanks for you comment.

lol well it's better than getting nothing. ;) I bet there's some kind of online thing you can use... I know I've seen timeshares for sale on Ebay and one-time use world mark credits (not the ownership) as well...
