It is impressive to note that the steamed food quite good for the human body as it does not contain oil.The oily food with salt in excess is very harmful to the people who suffer for diabeties.. The food such as Idly, string hoppers and puttu is cooked in steam. These are considered as south Indian food.I would like to get more information about this steamed food. I heard that nowadays lot of people prefer eating food items prepared under steam..most favourite dishes in big restaurants are prepared under steam and served.. have you tried steamed food dishes at home or outside? If anyone can suggest more steamed food i would be glad to experiance them..

steamed dumpling - we call them bao zi in China, they are steamed.and they look delicious, right?
steamed food,do you mean food steamed without soil?is that kind of food delicious?but i believe it is full of nutrition.i remember years ago when i was still at home,my parents want me to eat something that is steamed, they just put a little salt in it,and i felt like eating cotton,no taste, lol,i said to myself i will never eat it again.they said it is good for my health.lol,i like food that is boiled much more, but i also need enough soil, not too much. i ate steamed dumplings before,as breakfast,i dont know if you have this kind of food in your country, but it is easy to make,i guess,i never made it before.

Steaming is a great choice in cooking foods like when you want a meal that’s quick, easy and doesn’t heat up the kitchen. An added plus is that steaming is the least intrusive of all cooking techniques – the color, texture and flavor of the food remain closer to what nature intended. Better still, steamed foods retain more nutrients and are lower in fat and calories than food cooked by other methods. What are common to us, Filipinos, when we eat steamed foods are the likes of the plain or brown rice, types of fishes, and the vegetables. We also are fun of making native delicacies such as 'puto' and 'siopao' which are best cooked by steaming. They are all lesser in calories and fats. It's an healthy option of preparing foods for everybody.

Here we have a restaurant called "Zhen Gong Fu". The foods are all steamed there and their selling point is the steamed food is the healthiest food. So even it is a little expensive for the fast food restaurant, but there are still many customers go there in the meal time.
