The Quieter Side of Barcelona

A quiet square in Gracia, Barcelona - A quiet afternoon in a peaceful square in Gracia, Barcelona.

Most people know Barcelona as a noisy bustling city but there are places you can go to leave all that behind. One of my favourite places is Gracia. There are delightful parks and squares to sit and relax and watch the world go by. Do you have any favourite spots to unwind?

To be honest I saw very little of Barcelona on my only visit. I travelled in by train for a day out while staying in Blanes, but made the fatal mistake of not using the official tourist bus. I considered that I would do just as well simply strolling around, but with no knowledge of Barcelona I ended up just wandering around aimlessly. I departed the train in the Arc de Triomf, which was virtually all that I ultimately saw. If I visit Barcelona again I will invest in a proper tour of the city.

When I visited Barcelona, many years ago, my hotel was on Passeig de Gracia. I wonder if you refer to that avenue or if "your" Gracia is a neighbourhood in Barcelona.
