This is one of my pet hates.
It infuriates me the a Party Political Broadcast on behalf of the labour party consists of why the conservatives are wrong and what is wrong with their policies. Similarly, a broadcast on behalf of the conservative party consists of explaining what is wrong with labour and why we should not vote for them.
I would like to hear what they intend to implement and why their policies are right, but of course it is much easier to criticise.

Aha! Much easier to criticise hits the nail on the head. That way you don't have to put yourself on the line, and any would be leader should be putting themselves on the line. Thanks so much for your response!

This is sad, but true! What happened to authenticity and wanting to make the world a better place? Somehow all that got lost, what, decades ago?

Apparently it doesn't hurt them too bad as people still flock to the polling places every election day. Were in an age when you don't measure a man by his deeds, but by his apponants mis-deeds.
It's a big part of the reason I gave up the farce of elections.

Thanks for your very candid response. I think a lot people in the U.S. are feeling the same way. Everywhere I go people are calling for an end to the two party system and all of the corruption it entails. It's pretty sad that in most cases, it is the candidate with the most money and connections who wins. More about ego and ambition than doing what's right for the country. And we sure do need a huge infusion of "right" at this moment in time.

Some it may hurt and others it may help; it depends on the person voting for them. Me, personally, I hate when they slam on each other. I think they should only be allowed to do positive views & tell the accomplishments they have had ~ No Slamming the next guy!!

No slamming rules! I'd vote for that in a minute! Let the facts speak for themselves, although the facts can be twisted, and many see even a fact through their own cognition, so it's a conundrum, right? Oh no, I've confused myself!

You mean where candidate A slams candidate B? My gut reaction is, I hate them. I'd much rather a candidate concentrates on the good they themselves have done or plan to do.

Well said. If all they focus on is what the other guy/gal did wrong, how can we have any hope that they have anything new or positive of their own to contribute?

Yeah, the humor is funny, to a point, but I'd rather leave that to the Daily Show, or other social critics, you know? We are paying these people to run our country and when they make public idiots of themselves it makes all Americans look like idiots, which didn't used to be the case, and which is so sad I can't express how depressed it sometimes make me.
