When it is my friends birthday I want them to feel special, so I try to make something for them, in some cases to cook or bake something I know they like... or if I am going to buy a gift get something that makes them to feel special, something that they see and realized that I was thinking of them when I bouth it...something that show them how much I care for them...
What about you? How you do it?

Yeah, I agree with you...
and also the good thing about if you make a gift there is not going to be another give same as yours!
I like to be original... anyway sometime is hard...
And also to make something help you with those friends that you know they have the money to have anything they want...

Hi, well good for you! In my case, I just buy a gift which I think may suits to her/him. I have come to think also of making my own gifts for them, but I just cannot figure out if they will like it or not. So I do prefer to buy a gift rather than making it by my own self.
Have a nice day and God speed!

I usually get ambitious and do both. I try to bake a birthday cake, or make a special lunch for my friend. And I go out and buy some special little something that I know she's been wanting, and I try to add a little bouquet of flowers as well, money permitting. I like my friend to feel special on her special day.

It really depend on my friend. On of them I know, she would not really like somthing hand-made, so I would just buy something for her, or just gave her a gift card. But the other friend I think would like something hand-made, so I will bace somethng for her or made some decoration to her apartman. You are right hand-made gifts are very special, but not just for everybody.

hi terry! it depends. i used to make gifts, cards, or bake something for friends. and i would do the wrapping artistically myself. however, since i became too busy, i would rather buy stuff, but i make sure that i am getting the right thing for them by praying first. it is such a blessing when your gift is appreciated and can find use to the receiver. :-)

Hello there. When i was younger, i used to make gifts for my friends. I've made cross stitch, muffins, cookies, jig saw puzzles and etc for my friends before. However, as i grow older, i realize i do not have as much time to make gifts for all my friends. Now, I only make gifts for special friends. =D

It is alright to bring gifts to a friend celebrating a birthday. However, it is to be emphasized that when a friend invited you for a birthday party it is not expected that you bring something in return. If it is a potluck birthday party than bring something. What is important is to greet your friend and let your friend realize that he/she is important to you by remembering this important milestone date. A simple text messages or a telephone call is alright. However, if you want to treat your friend (assuming that you have more money) to a lunch or dinner then it is well appreciated. The best thing that you can give to your friend is to pray for his continuing good health and good fortune. And as a reminder, do not expect your friend that when it is your birthday, your friend must also bake cake or give you something in return. If your friend forgot your birthday, just think that your friend must have been too busy and him or her forgetting your birthday is not intentional. In thst case you can text or call your friend saying " Friend have you forgotten, it is my birthday "

Hi... I agree with you, it not necesary to bring a gift for a birthday... but where I am from, it is a tradition... so I do it anyway...
It does not matter how much it cost, it is about the attention you give, and the love you put in the present, if there is any... a hug can be enough!

I think something homemade is extra special and if you have the time to do it, I think the homemade gifts are best. I had a friend once who was a very busy lady with work and her family schedule and helping her hubby with an extra job, so for her b'day I baked a lasagna and had I think salad and bread and a dessert, she loved it, and a nice card too.

Since I do a number of crafts, I like to make my own gifts for people, and not just on their birthdays...during the holidays I like to make gift baskets as well...something nice and festive and each is a virtual work of art cause I put lot of time into it....I even make my own gift to myself for my birthday..something that has meaning for me..I happen to make up teddy bears in a native American style, the bears are pre-made...But last year I decided to make my own bear from scratch. Years and years ago, I had gotten a Teddy Bear making kit, and it sat in my closet just collecting dust, so last year for my birthday gift to myself I decided to finally make it...I love it and hope to make more to sell sometime or give as gifts to others on their birthdays...Here's a photo of him...His name is Bragi, and completely hand-stitched..even the little vest I made for him...he now keeps me company on my bed--uh...along with my two cats..LOL
Oh--as a ps...I love to bake too...as christmas presents I often make my cranberry walnut bread...

The biggest gift I make for myself on my birthday it is organize a party with my friends!
