I am from England and was in my English class the other day when we read a poem by an American woman named Ani Difranco. The poem was called "Self Evident". It was a particulary powerful beat poem that really affected me, as it was based on 9/11 and this woman's hate of George Buh and Bureaucrats. It was a truly amazing piece of writing. I was wondering if anyUs citizens have heard of her, is she quite popular over the pond?

I am actually from Buffalo NY (USA) where Ani originated. That is amazing to hear a poem of hers being read in an English class in another country! That's wonderful! She is very popular over here and even has her our record company (Righteous Babe Records). If the poem affected you that much, than I would highly recommend purchasing some of her albums if you have not already. She has dozens and dozens of CD's from current dating back to the mid to late 80's.
