Do you have any twins in your family? Are they identical or fraternal? Is there a trend of twins in your family?
My mother was an identical twin. Her twin died at the age of 6 from an overdose of medication. My mother's sister had a set of fraternal twin boys. My son and his wife had a set of fraternal twins, a boy and a girl.
Fraternal twins are very different from each other. The ones in my family are total opposites. One is fair skinned, the other is dark complected. One is skinny, the other is chunky. One is tall, the other is short.
Do your twins have any similarities?

Congrats on the twins, how exciting :) Is this your first pregnancy or do you have older children? Wow, what a surprise :)

Hi beutfulmama,
Congratulations on the twins!!! What a joy!! Yoou must be excited. December is a good monthe for a birth. My birthday is the 31st.
Are there any twins in your husbands family? That may be where this comes from since there are no known twins in your family.
Good luck to you and your husband on your little family's health and welfare.

tarag,
Hopefully you have better luck in that department than we have had. Our twins just don't like each other. Since it is a boy and a girl, it seems to be worse. She is mean, and he is gentle most of the time. Put them in a room and close the door and you can hear them yelling at each other to go away.
Maybe you can have the twins that grow up together and get real close to each other, and care for each other like twins should. Good luck.

hi thelilsis,
I know what you mean about your girls being mistaken for twins. Two of my boys went through that for years. Now you can really tell they are not twins. Isn't it funny, you wanted twins, but didn't get them, but got two girls that looked enough like twins to pass as twins. You just enjoy those beautiful little girls. Best of luck to you.

I have many relatives that have twins the most recent is my cousin she had 2 girls in july. I have lots of others in the family. Also in my husbands family they have lots as well and most of them (on both sides) are identical. My mother in law has a twin sister (I think they are identical but I am not sure), and has another set of twins they are identical.

hi violeta_va,
WOW lots of twins on both sides of your family!! Lots more to come in future generations. I knew a family back home that had 3 sets of twins and 1 set of triplets. They were all girls and resembled each other, set to set. It was amazing how much the whole family looked alike.

My two aunties gave birth to twins thrice in a row. my brother has twin boys and they are identical, one is called Brian and the other is Ian but when u call one they both come/answer! they are 8 years old. I wish I have twins when I get married. They are lovely bundles of joy.

kwenge,
Your auntie must have her hands full all the time with that many sets of twins! But I bet she would not trade it for anything more enjoyable. Maybe you will be lucky enough to have twins when you wed. Good luck to you.

I have fraternal twin brothers. They are different from just about any angle that you look. Though they are both smart, they went to different colleges, earned different degrees, and were among the best in their classes. They both have wonderful singing voices. You will never know that they are twins until they tell you so. Fraternal twins are really different physically from another otherwise they wil have to be identical twins.

hi 1strider,
At least you have experienced living with fraternal twins. You know there is a possibility of more twins in the future generations. It is nice to know they are so accomplished even though they did it in different atmospheres. Thanks for sharing this with us.

My daughter has a set of fraternal twins, they are so cute. one is fat one skinny, one is dark and one is light. one like to beat up on, and take he other's food or anything that they have in there hand. one eats more than the other. one looks like his dad and the other looks like his mother. No similarities.

Hi mariascott,
Really makes you wonder if they are related, doesn't it. But they are such a joy to have around, to play with, and to watch grow up.

Hi cajun,
Luckily you did not have twins. Or would you have liked to have twins? I think it would have been nice to have twins. In a way, I'm glad I didn't though.

Oh I love twins, they are so adorable whether they are identical or fraternal. My mom's sister had fraternal twin daughters and they are both in their 50's or 60's now, but different as day and night. One was tall and big boned, the other sort of petite and small frame, they love each other fiercely though. I guess the twin bond. When I was pregnant with my 2nd child, my daughter, they thought on 2 different visits that I was going to have twins. They didn't do the ultrasounds then like they do now. But I remember holding my breath, b/c I already had an active 3 1/2 yr. old at home. But I would have loved twins. Seems they run in your family quite a bit. Great discussion :)

I have a set of cousins who are identical twin. Caren and Careen are so much fun. At a glance you wouldnot know the difference but whne you spend time with them you will find out that one is a tomboy. They are 21 now and each has a child but no twins as yet.

Sharon,
Isn't that amazing, identical on the outside and so different on the inside. They each have a personality of their own. That's neat.

nyumix,
Not all twins are alike. There are always differences in twins, no matter how much they look alike. You're right that is funny..

Hi dee,
Sorry to hear about your sister and the problems there. Good luck with the twins if you end up with them. They will need lots of love which I feel you can give them. Good luck to you in whatever happens..

David,
I do enjoy our twins. I've watched thes two grow up and they still amaze me. They do not feel each other like identical twins though. At least they have not acknowledged it yet. Who knows maybe in the near future they will, and they will know it for what it is. Thanks.

Thanks for replying. You are truly missing out. When you are out sometime look around and see if you see any twins around. Observe them and you will see what we mean. They are amazing though whether they are identical or fraternal.
