I was born in Hawaii. My father was Ilocano (from Candon, Ilocos Sur), my mother is Visayan (Born in Hawaii also but her parents were from Cebu). There are alot of Filipino people that have moved to Hawaii that we know and they call us "Hawaiians" cause we were born here even though we are full blooded Filipinos. I'm American cause Hawaii is a part of the USA but not Hawaiian cause I don't have any Hawaiian blood. I'm a Filipino American!! Another thing is that alot of people think that I am of a mixed race cause I have freckles & almond shaped eyes. No one believes that I am 100% Filipino. Anybody else get mistaken for another race?

See, this is what's wrong with the western world. you were born and raised in America, on the beautiful hawaiian islands, but you prefer to be called filipino, simply because that iswhere your parents immigrated from. As long as people refuse to accept loyalty to their birth country, there will always be bigotry and haterd. YOU ARE NOT FILIPINO, YOU ARE AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
