It is pongal, made out of rice, dal, vegetables, chillies, cashewnuts or groundnuts, pepper all puttogether and cooked in a cooker. This is very delicious and in fact there is a festival named after this and celebrated in Chennai. We prepare once a week as a part of breakfast. Many people have this dish as a part of lunch too. Remember, rice is staple food here in this part of the world (Bangalore, India).

My favorite dish to prepare is probably lasagna. We really dont have it that often. Maybe every other month or so. I also like making soups and roasts. I love to bake too.

I like making chicken paprikash, this cheese and potato casserole, and pasta. I make the first two maybe once or twice a month, and then pasta, whenever :).
