I prefer olive oil. But, there are times when you need canola oil for a recipe. It also is good for frying because it can take higher temps without burning.

We use olive oil when cooking spaghetti sauce. Like u said, it is very expensive so we only use it for special dishes, or in doing salad dressings. With ordinary cooking like frying and veggie stir fries, we use vegetable, corn or palm oil.

I usually use either vegetable or olive oil. It really depends on what it is I'm cooking. I actually keep 2 different olive oils in the house, extra virgin and light. I also keep a can of cooking spray in the pantry, canola usually. I've used safflower oil and liked it as well.

We used pure vegetable oil in cooking. Thats what our doctor suggest for my mom to use. She says that pure vegetable oil is low in cholesterol or no cholesterol at all so thats what we use.

I use vegetable oil. Or I use corn oil. I use olive oil for special dishes because of the taste it leaves in food. If it is Italian or Mexican food, I use olive oil. Anthing else, I use the other oils.

I use olive oil for most of my cooking. I know that it is expensive, but I really prefer the taste of extra virgin olive oil. For things that require a higher cooking temp or more mild taste, I will use vegetable oil. I also keep sesame seed oil and hot chili oil in my cabinet for flavoring dishes.

We use both olive oil and vegetable oil. I save the olive oil for things like pasta and chicken that I want a lighter taste on. Olive oil is way to expensive to use on everything.

I use to always use veg oil, but then I heard that olive oil is better for your health so now I always buy olive oil. Sometimes the expense is worth it.
