hey people, recently it came in the news that a genetic engineer had managed to give a kind of blueprint for the anti-body which could counteract the action of the aids virus which as we know is an enveloped virus which keeps on changing its form...after this latest development do you think it is possible for us to find a cure to this disease?

The posssibility is hopeful, but right now, there is no known cure for the disease. I think it will take some time before a real cure for the disease is found. As you know virus is hard to cure. Even the cold virus that havoc many of us there is no real cure for it although we do get better it is because we are able to cope what the virus can do but the virus itself is not eliminated at all. Cold Virus is still a virus and still is infectious. Medicines that are available are really to remedy the symptoms that the virus creates but it does not really kill the virus itself. It just help the body from producing a coping mechanism that would slow down their rapid reproduction until the body gains back its resistance to the disease. With the AIDS virus they target the immune system that is supposed to protect our body against them that is why its hard to fight them because the first line of defense are the first they attack. With that recent discovery I do hope they could really find a solution to end the suffering of many of its victims.

YES YOU ARE RIGHT THEIR IS CONTINUE RESEARCH ON HI VIRUS AND AIDS. ONE THING DO YOU KNOW THE BLUE-PRINT OF DIABETES GENE TOOK 100 YEARS TO DEVELOP SO DONT IMAGINE TO WRITE DOWN THE HIV BLUEPRINT SO QUICKLY BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS INVENTED IN EARLY 1980s. It is long way to cure. We are still in the area of preventing it and it is yet to be achieved so you can understand cure is far behind. As this moment there is no cure because we cant prevent this viruses as this virus works in cellular level not in blood stream and we dont have the information how CD4 lymphocyte cell acts with this virus. So wait for cure

There is no cure at the moment and I really don't see one coming in the near future which is probably why so many sites like http://std-friends.com keep poping up all over the place. If any thing we'll probably see a vaccine and not a cure because it's more of a feasable idea.
