I did not know today was Elder day, thank you for sharing! I have an 89 year old grandmother and I think I will go spend some time with her. I think it was wonderful of you to spend time with the elder's in your community! Thanks for the reminder of how important older people are to us!

I am sorry for the loss of your parents. I had no clue about world elders day, but I try to treat every day like that. I love older people, i used to work in nursing homes for a while, and i love to volunteer when i can and go spend time with the elderly, especially since they seem to be so much nicer, and kinder then many younger people can be! It's refreshing to take a step back in time and hear the stories they have to tell of the "good old days". At the same time it is very sad and depressing to see how many people just throw the elderly away like they are unimportant - almost as if they are warehousing them by putting them into a nursing home, never going to visit, oh it just makes me so sad to see that! Yup, I think everyday should be special for the elderly, you never know how much longer anyone will be around, but it's even more imenent with them and they deserve to be treated with love and respect all of the time.

Sorry to hear that both of your parents already passed away. Me too, but that was few years ago, my mother passed ahead of my father. My mother was only 65 years of age when she passed away. I love my mother so much but not able to show her how I care for her. So when my father was still alive I showed him care and love. But even if both have passed away, their memories lingers. As if they were both here on our side. I visitg home for the aged here in the cith, rescue some old citizens in the park without homes bring them to the reception center and social workers take care of them. How I wish I can always visit those old people and to show them we care. Later you and I will also be old. Kindness begot kindness.

Hello tuhpaul :)
I didn't know about this. It's really inspiring what you did that day :)
As for me I can be with elders anytime because our people usually have their elders stay with them even if these elders are already very old. I have quite a few neighbors who are in this age-of-wisdom already. I get to talk to them sometimes and they have a lot of stories/wisdom to share. My dad also passed away already, but when my mom becomes old, I would definitely care for and have her stay with my family :)

I didn't know about this until I read your topic. I am so sorry to hear that you have lost your loved parents this year, which is really rather sad a thing. I hope that you are feeling good today after visiting some of the aged people. You are so nice to please them by entertaining them.
