I think for the most part of my life my friends and family appreciate me for who I am and what I do. I love doing things for them whether it be cooking their favorite meal or picking up a little gift. At work however, I do not feel like I am fully appreciated for the job I do. I am efficient, hard working, and dependable. Do you think you are appreciated for who you are and your skills?

I know. My daughter was a stay at home mom until just a few months ago. She said she had all kinds of things to do everyday and her husband just thought she sat around...and so did everyone else. She has gotten a job now.....and a cleaning service! You probably are not appreciated the way you should be!

Dear jillhill, I am happy to learn you are being appreciated by others. Unfortunately I did not lot of good things to others. They might have appreciated privately but never uttered a word of appreciate in front of me. I always never expect others to apprecaite me for the good things I did to them. One incident I would like to mention here. About 30 years before one young boy around 20 years came to me for asking for a typist job. I got him a job immediately as there was a vacancy available. Subsequently I forget him completely. After 15 years I had to go to a Government Office where I had to meet a top brass of the office. I was asked to wait when I give my visiting slip. Within a few minutes one man came running to me with all apologies, ushered me to his room, ordered for snacks and coffee for me. Subsequently I realised that the person who I provided the typist job was the top brass of the Government organisation.
