It is important that if you have an outdoor cat to remember to spay or neuter him. So many cats die each year in shelters beacuse theres an overpopulation of cats, and others suffer in the streets. Spaying and neutering cats will help reduce the number of cats that will die in shelters every year. Do you think spaying and neutering animals is cruelty? Or do you think it will help solve the cat overpopulation problem???

It is important to have all your cats (indoor/outdoor) spayed and neutered. Not only does it help with a HUGE overpopulation problem, but it is much healthier for your cat. For one thing it lessens the likelyhood of all sorts of cancers. And who wants a female cat in heat. It's not fun, what with all the howling that goes on. And what's the point of not having her spayed if you don't plan on letting her have kittens. There are too many unwanted litters anyway.... If at all possible keep your cats inside. They'll live longer and have a greater chance of staying healthy. There are all sorts of nasty diseases that outside cats can pick up. For instance FIV, FIP, and FeLV...

Spay and neuter indoor cats too, there is always the possibility they will end up outdoors so it is best to have all your bases covered. I don't think it is cruelty, my cat was spayed 7 years ago, and she was fine and still is fine.

One of my neighbours has many cats, one of which throws out litter after litter. This cat is always either pregnant or nursing. It's too thin and very small, i don't think it's good for a cat to be in this state almost constantly. It's always popping round mine searching for food which doesn't impress my puss, but i feel sorry for it and let it in. I think it's cruel not to ever spay them. A couple of litters maybe the give the poor thing a break.
