Why does the stomach make funny noise when its hungry???

I am sorry but I am not a scientist but I have been waiting for someone to reply with the answer you were after and after 3 weeks with no reply I didn't think you would mind if I put my non scientific answer here.
I think it does it as the acids that normally break up the food we have in our stomaches, when there is nothing left in there make those sounds as they no longer have a job to do.
Put some food in there and they get to work breaking it down, therefore not growling for more!!
Maybe now a scientific person will tell us the real reason.
