Why is it that sometimes our feelings about worship is so intense then all of a sudden fizzles out and turns cold ?

It happens to me also especially when it was just my first time. In the course of my study I have learned not to depend on emotions, as our emotions fluctuate. You have to have a conviction, so that you can overcome any hurdles on your faith. Always believe in your mind, have your faith in your mind level.

Hi conrada1923! Worship sometimes for us is so intense that we are caught in a feeling that we hope would not end but it soon fizzles out and the feeling of being cold and dry creeps in. If you are familiar with the events in the Gospel regarding the transfiguration of Christ on mount Tabor where he changes his aura and the disciples are caught in the same feelings of intense presence of the divine that they wish it would not end but when the event fades they are back in to the reality that we are to return to the world and face its challenges. Worship does not only involve feelings but even in the event of dryness and the feeling of being cold God invites us into a deeper relationship with him that passes beyond human emotions and feelings. Worship goes beyond emotions it is a sense of knowing with faith and certainty that God is ever present in our midst every time we are gathered as a community irregardless of what we feel or imagined. IMHO.
