spanking

I personally love to get spanked now and again. My husband doesn't like it very much though. As for the kids, yeah, beat their lil booties! Kids are not disciplined enough AT ALL.

I think there's spanking and there's spanking! I have often had this conversation with my husband about ways to be able to discipline our children. My tapping them on the hand would not be as hard as my husbands tapping on the hand and I think thats where the problem is. What's hard for me might not be hard for someone else. I agree with the post that said they wouldnt tan a bare bum but would give a tap on the hand or on a diaper. My daughter is deaf and makes no eye contact so for us it's really hard to be able to show her that we are not happy about certain types of behavious so we have to resort to a slap on the hand (not hard but enough to be felt). I guess it depends on everyone's idea of spanking.

spanking as in walopping the childs bare bum??? or as in a little slap, on hand or diapered bum, hard enough to feel, and hurt their feelings but not hard enough to really hurt the child? For me it would be option, two while i wont tan a childs bare bum till its red, i will give them a tap on the hand or padded diaper, if nothing else will seem to work...usually the tape and sending them directly to time out works

Against! Spanking teaches violence! Spanking teaches brute force! Spanking teaches that when you don't like something, you just whollop the other person! Spanking doesn't teach right from wrong! If a child is spanked, and desires to do the offending action anyway, s/he will figure out a way to be sneaky! Spanking ruins trust from child to parent. There are other ways to discipline children.
