If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

I would gather food for a restaurant. A combination of food from a multi-acre garden and wild food foraging like berry picking. Or maybe gathering for a communal type of situation. Every day, I would walk and find things.
The other job would be to teach subjects that interested people. I used to teach at a community college, classes people wanted to take. Non-credit courses. But lately, not enough people sign up. It's wonderful to teach things people are interested in learning.
So Ideally, gathering spring, summer and early fall. Teach fun or interesting courses, Fall and Spring, either at night after gathering or between gathering seasons.
What what job or jobs would be ideal to you?

20 years of singing, sounds like you enjoy it. I love to sing, too. Now if I could just stay on key!

I would choose writing. I'd write different stories especially fairy stories for kids. That must be interesting and exciting to put whatever ideal into the stories and make the kids happy. Even the sky is brighter and bluer when kids' laughters can be heard everywhere...
The clock put me back from my daydreaming to reality. Gotta go shopping for supper :)

That sounds like lots of fun. There are books and magazines about how to get started with writing children's books. So maybe you can do that someday. You never know.

I would love to be a farmer. I love to grow a great garden and I would love to be self sustaining. I love the miracle of watching the seeds grow into these great providing plants. And there is nothing better than making a meal from your own garden.

My brother went to a nephrologist at a children's hospital in Montreal, Canada when he was a kid. They saved his life. If you did that, you could help kids and have the specialty you want both. Take care

I've always dreamed of owning my own daycare center for children. I have so many ideas and beliefs on how children should be cared for. I worked many years in daycares sickened by the lack of respect towards parents or their children. It seemed some of the workers were just there for what they thought was an "easy pay". I was there for the children and only left for health reasons. If I ever get well, I hope to make that dream a reality.

If I had a nice job it would be teaching. I would love to teach yoga and philosophy. And I would love to be an orator. And, first and foremost I would teach in nature. I would do away with classrooms and buildings and would love to sit somewhere among tall trees and plants with birds chirping and bees humming and wind whistling among the pine trees. :)

I think I would want to be an actor. Because its always been my life dream to be an famous actor and make movies. I love to act and plus you get paid a lot of money for doing it. The only thing I wouldnt like about it is the long hours you put into making a movie plus waking up at 5am every morning is also something I wouldnt like to do. When your making a movie that is pretty much your life and its probally very stresfull.

I would love to be a costume designer... I used to make all the dresses for weddings, custom designing and doing all of the sewing. I can't do the labor anymore, but designing for the figure type, or for a theme, was an enormous amount of fun. I enjoyed so much selecting the fabrics with the bride-to-be, as well as the trims and the little details that made each dress special. I would like to have taken that next step to movie or theatrical designing.

My goodnesss you're extremely talented. Is there anything you haven't done? I'm all thumbs when it comes to sewing. I even mess-up threading the machine and have no eye for doing anything freehand (uneven stitches). Envy you. Take care

I love the ribbon work. I can to the latchhook that's in kits, but not the real rug hooking. The real one is what I would like to do. My Mother was a perfectionist and I couldn't learn anything from her. She would undo and finish herself. But cooking, she did let me finish. It killed her, but she did it. I couldn't watch her cook though because it made her nervous. I wish my aunt had stayed with us. She had 7 kids, 4 girls, and she had so much patience. Having a Valevictorian Mom was a pain. Take care

I learned at my Gramma's knee... she wouldn't let me use the sewing machine until I could do hand-stitching that met her standards. It took me almost a year before I got to feel the power!LOL! Because of her, I sew, embroider, cross stitch, do ribbon work and french heirloom sewing, crochet, knit, and hook rugs... she was an amazing lady!

I used to teach chemistry and physics to my highschool students before I migrated here in the US on May. However, my dream really is to pursue a career inclined to business either i'll be working in big offices/industries or my most favorite in the hotel industry. But my father influenced me with my decision and so when I get my degree I decided to teach (my degree can also be used in teaching). Well, it was fun; one of my experiences that taught me a lot. Right now, my work preferences chsnges again and I am planning to work either in offices, retail/sales or in the hotel industry.

If I can have any job in the world, I will like to become President of my country. As a common citizen I am harassed by everybody, the power company, water company, municipal corporation, tax people, taxi/buses, railways, the list is very long. President is isolated from this harassment.

Even though I was pretty fed up with the whole scene by the time we finally retired, I would do it all over again and be a college teacher. There are more lucrative positions but the work is steady, it is humanitarian, the time goes really fast, and then are are those three reasons that every teacher will recognize as the best part of the job: June, July and August!

I worked at a Community College for awhile. It was nice. I was 50%. Then one semester, they gave us part-timers a proxy to vote whether we wanted to be part of the union or not. We voted in. The College sent a message loud and clear, they hired way more part-timers so none of us were 50% so they wouldn't have to provide part-time benefits. So I ended up with only one class to teach. We were a dime a dozen because the 4 year college with Masters program, too, right next door, they could get as many teachers as they wanted.
I find that if there is a really good job, someone will go out of their way to mess it up. Take care and great response.

This a great question that i heard before. I also don't what should i do since most of people focus more to money instead of their career. This is the problem in our society now. Most of the people already lazy and put less effort on their career. They rather to have more relax and lazy life. I don't think anyone will have ambition in future.
Of course i also think of having an ideal job but is it possible? When you work something interesting but you can not generate much revenue from it. What can you do? You rather change job and do others simple and earn able job.
This is the reality of life. In fact, I hate to have job. I rather to have a lazy and relax life like all the big bucks.

Yes, I've noticed at various jobs that more and more people are lazy. There are jobs where the work is not very strenuous and people still make money. Perhaps you could look into those and report back to us. Take care
