We have a new kitten (KITTYLOVE) who we may or maynot be able to keep. I have never had a kitten before so all the cat lovers out there, please give your best advice...thanks...
We are putting an ad in our local paper to make sure he isn't lost. I'd hate for some little kid to be crying for their little kitty.... I know how I'd feel if my pet were lost... If we end up keeping him, we want to make sure he gets the best of everything....
Just like our puppy does...LOL.

Hey, what your doing is the right thing to do, because if that kitty actually did belong to someone else, say to a 4 year old little girl or boy child, they may or may not know of the kitty's where abouts. But on the otherhand, maybe an adult dropped it off, in hope that you and your family could give it a better home. But whatever does happen, I STILL am hoping that you will be able to have that sweet baby to have for your very own, because every beautiful lady, like yourself, always must have at least one pretty baby kitty sooner or later anyway. And if you ask me, I still think that you two where actually meant to be with eachother. I was wondering something though, is that a real photo of your pretty baby?? If so, he's a real cutey! Now as to the advice that I can give you?? All you really need to do is give that baby lot's of loving, and taht means giving lots of hugs, and sweet kisses to him, and I assure you that he will be just as loving and as good to you too. But please remember, when he PURRS, that only means that he's Very happy. :) And really the Only other thing you will need is some special formula Kitten food, and a litter box, and to keep it as clean as possible. I clean my two baby's litter once every two or three days. And if you should (hopfully) be able to keep your baby, I also think that it would be a very good idea to get him or her fixed anytime between 6 months to 9 months in age. This will prevent any Male cats from spraying (Marking with Pee) all over your things and house, and it will also help to prevent any unwanted litters if your kitty happens to be a female cat. But really for the most part, Cat and kittens are all very easy to take care of and I still hope that you will be able to keep your little baby cause I really do think that with you and your family finding him was No accident! I happen to think that You and Kitty Love were actually both meant to be with eachother and to Love eachother, but that is only my personal opinion of course! Anyway, I just hope that this will help. And I will be crossing my fingers for you & KittyLove to be with eachother for now and forever. Thanks for posting that message and Please keep me informed on what happens, Ok? And if You should ever need to to review the advice, Please know that you can always come back here to this thread. Your Posts will always show up on your Log In Page. I just hope that I have been help to both you and to you New child, KITTYLOVE. :)

That is great advise to a new cat owner. I would also suggest getting a spray bottle for water and start training right away. You can train cats to stay off of things, out of things, and away from things by starting early and being consistent with the spray bottle, just a little squirt when kitty is doing something it shouldn't and it will stop and learn very quickly that is not something it should be doing. I have done this with all my cats and it only take getting wet a few times before they learn after that all you have to do is pick up the bottle and they will stop doing what ever it is that they are doing. However it should be noted that once kitty learns what the spray bottle is you have to be careful about picking it up around kitty because it will think it is in trouble when the bottle is in your hands.
