Going through my documents file this morning I was surprised at all of the needless things I have acquired in it. Not only do I have a lot of images that I quickly deleted but pdf's of things I've saved for one reason or another. I have bus schedules that I save for myself and my daughter and also a couple I have saved for other people and don't need any more.
I also have a journal that I write in every so often that is definately not going to be deleted. I had a couple of other things that I don't even know where they came from or why I would have put them there in the first place.
Do you know what is in your documents file? How often do you check it or do you?

Mostly important stuff, I used to clean my hard drives every now and then. I don’t like messy folders saved anywhere in my PC. I used to organize it properly so if ever I’ll use it the next time, I won’t have a hard time finding it. What I have in my PC are lots of .doc files, photos, and games.

Looking through my documents I don't think I really have anything of great importance. I keep most of my important documents in a hard copy in a box.

That is what I need to do today. Create new folders so I can find things. I have pictures of items I have in my auctions but their in folders of pictures of family so I can never find them.

Hi there.. When I read this discussion, I immediately opened my "My Documents" file in my pc and just like you, I do have lots of needless things in here. For one, pictures of my crushes.. Lol.. There aren't my crushes anymore so I deleted them. Some documents that are really valuable and that I didn't delete were my term and thesis papers which I will be submitting by Friday. :) Other than that, there are still some things that aren't really that important but I just prefer to keep em in a folder. I don't really check my documents all the time. It just depends if I have to use it for school or something. ",)
Best of luck to you!

Hello!
I always check all mu files in my document folder. All the files I have stored in my doecument folder are mostly office stuff and work related files such as pdf files, word docs, some excel docs and some are contact lists and details although I have some personal stuff and rubbish stuff stored too. In my document folder I have sub folders and labelled them life if it's for work or for personal stuff so it's organize and I know which ones are important and which ones are not. And as much as possible I separate the photos and put them in a different folder. Before, I seldom check my document folder actually, but my brother told me to do cleaning and organizing at least once in a month and delete the files that are rubbish since it occupies memory space which I can still use for some important files in the near future. Well, my brother knows better than me when it comes to computer so I had to follow him eventually...*hehe*
ciao! c",)

I have a lot of journals. I store the good information i see in the internet in the for of word files so that i can come back to it whenever i want without accessing the internet. I also have some important documents and i have lot of aptitude questions in the word documents.

Mostly pictures of our weekend day trips to places, also a few bus schedules and items that I have copied online. I just recently went through my document folders and deleted what I didn't need anymore.

There is so much stuff in my documents file of which I don't have a clue, ctry. The laptop that I have used to be my granddaughter's, so there is a lot of stuff that I know I would not have on it(such as a huge number of rap songs). I really need to phone her and ask if it would be alright for me to delete some of it since she just bought a new laptop. I do run a defrag on my system pretty often since I download and delete games constantly.

I sometimes routinely go through my files to trash some things....for instance my first initial scans of my photos (slides) that are then later revamped in Photoshop so I no longer need that original scan image...I have a lot of PDF files but I kept them...What I do is do an e-mail to myself with the attachment of the PDF file then go to the library open up my email and the attachment and print them up--I like having a hard copy edition of the file..Yes I do have my own printer, but if I were to print up every single PDF I download, I'd be running out to get ink cartridges just about every week--LOL most things I don't trash though as they are important items...I have my resumes, a listing of my published photos, listing of my scanned photos, my grant proposal info, my short stories, etc.
