I know this is a hot topic with everyone out there reguardless if you work or stay at home. I just wanted to know what your view points are!! Do stay at home parents have it easy or is the working parent lucky to have adult conversation with someone other than the person at your local Wal-mart? I stay at home and I love my job, but do you concider it a job?

I've been on both sides with this one. I worked outside of the home for years before my son was born and now I stay home with him. No matter how you look at it, being a mom is definately a full time job. I do sometimes miss the interaction but compared to spending time with my son while he's so little and doing something new everyday...it's worth it!

Rationalization for not working!
It's not who stays home more. It's how you spend the time w/ your child(ren) that counts.
There are lots of examples of good and bad for all sides. Enough to fill up my yahoo mailbox and more!

I think stay at home parents have just as much of a job as those who go to work. Taking care of kids might be fun, but its still demanding. Especially for those who have more than one child. My sister is a stay at home mom and shas 4 kids. She loves it!! Its more than a full time job... you do alot of 'overtime' lol. I posted a funny thing about the job of being a stay at home mom, you should read it.
here is the link, it should take you to it, its hilarious!!

I think it would be harder for both parents to work full time outside the home. Some people really have the desire to do that though. Others simply don't have a choice. Hats off to all those who do it!

I think being a stay at home mom is the hardest, most important, AND most rewarding job there can be. Just think we are raising up the next generation, the ones that will be taking care of us as old folks! We better do a good job! - lol

I have stayed at home for almost 8 years. I have had 2 part time jobs in those years also. And just got another one. But the only reason I had to look for another one is because of our finances. But I believe that being a stay at home mom, or dad, is the hardest job ever! But then again, working parents have it hard too, because they dont get to spend as much time with their kids as we do. I think that each person makes decisions based on what is best for their family at the time. And we all make the best of it.

Work at home parents have a hard job in its self. I am a stay home mother of 4 and three are teenagers. I would love to have a conversations with outside adults. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the conversations I have with my husband and my kids. Sometimes we all need a little extra outside relationships to ease our stress from day to day responsablities and I do consider work at home moms a job.

i am the single mum of three kids under 8,i dont go out to work because it would cost me more in child care than i could earn.i dont smoke or drink or go out socialising, all of my clothes and most of the kids are from charity shops.i am so very tired,i feel there arent enough hours in the day and i never get a break.we never have a holiday and i have to scrimp and scrape every penny.its more than a full time job.my kids are everything to me,i adore them.lifes hard and i just wish i could make things better for them,as soon as i can i am going to go to college and get a decent job.
