How many people without medical or dental insurance

I'm curious. In light of the new Michael Moore movie "sicko" which does not really deal with those uninsured that much but highlights the problems with those who have insurance. How many people have no medical or dental insurance or know people who d not have them? It is estimated that 48 million Americans (roughly 15%) have no health insurance and 7 out of 10 (70%) have no dental insurance. Amazing in the most advanced nation in the world is it not? Some people have jobs where it simply is not offered and some can't afford what's offered. Let's hear it. Who has no coverage or knows some one who has no coverage?

My husband and I don't have any coverage. His job doesn't offer it and we can't afford what my job offers. No dental insurance, either. We also have 2 sons with no dental coverage. One doesn't have medical, either. I think it is a shame that the US seems to cater more to the big insurance companies than to it's citizens.

I agree with you completely and it's the reason I started my home business to help people who have been overlooked because their employers either do not offer benefits or they simply cannot afford the ridiculous insurance premiums. Everyone in the United States (the world for that matter) should have access to basic affordable care.
