Hiya Pixel,
I read somewhere that it takes the average person 7 minutes minimum to fall asleep. My husband can break that record though! LOL He can be asleep in just a couple of minutes, and I can too if Im REALLY tired.
We usually leave the tv on with the timer set to shut it off after an hour or so. Im usually asleep by then because I have no idea that it goes off.
I just try and not think about worriful things, I try to listen to the tv or listen to the fan to go to sleep. Sometimes I just like it to be really quiet.
I def cant fall asleep with a hungry tummy! I have to get up and eat something to stop it from growling and cramping.

Thanks Pixel, Im fine!!
I went to sleep really fast last night, I must have been really tired. I guess I fell under the "average" category, I was knocked out quickly, probably less than 7 mins! lol
I hope sleeping is not an issue for you, I have been there and spent many nights getting out of bed and getting on the PC to try and make myself sleepy. Especially if Im worried about something or excited about something.
Have a good day!

Given the choice, I would like to turn on my transistor/radio to listen to some soft music, instead of watching TV. Untill something extra ordinary is there, I do not enjoy watching TV.
while lying for sleep, I think about the day's entire activites and remember happy moments of the day.
It is not possible for me to fall asleep with hungry stomach.
I fall asleep within 5-10 minutes and my partner tells me you are such a bad person, that you immediately fall asleep. LOL!
Have a nice day!

It is not in my hand, I cannot control my sleeping, I love to fall asleep. I should thank my partner for doing me a favour (allowing me to sleep before her)

It's easier for me to fall asleep when there is a tv or a radion playing.
Normally, I pray the rosary when there is not tv or a radio, until I fell asleep.
I can't sleep easily like others. But I can sleep with an empty stomach.

I usually turn off the TV before going to bed. I like to listen to the radio but since my husband can't sleep with music on, so what i did is I listen to my Ipod. The next day i just found it under my pillow or wherever. I listen to my favorite music before going to bed until I fall asleep.
It depends on what happened on that day, I could think whatever. Sometimes, my family in the Philippines. My friends...

that's good to think of others before bedtime. i think it's better to think real people than 'unreal' people (TV) at this time.
TQ.

secret? well, just stay happy and be contented with what you have. Dont look what other people got, focus on what you can share and never stop dreaming. sounds complicated, right? that's life!

Well I'm one of these fortunate people who can sleep anytime, anyplace, anywhere! UI've never suffered from insomnia in my life - so literally I am out like a light within 2 or 2 minutes of going to bed, and never wake up until ther alarm gets me up in the morning! I am always rushing aroud - full time job, lots of commuting in central London, a house to run, 6 cats, housework, gardening, and a load of hobbies, - so by the time I go to bed nothing in the world could keep me awake! I certainly wouldn't want TV in the bedroom - I don't watch it much anyway - and it would annoy the hell out of me when I was in bed. By the way - I have also been known to fall asleep at a noisy AC/DC rock concert, at work in my tea-break, regularly on the train to and from the office, and on every train/bus/flight I've ever taken! LOL!

you're so lucky to fall asleep easily.
But!..." I have also been known to fall asleep at a noisy AC/DC rock concert, at work in my tea-break, regularly on the train to and from the office, and on every train/bus/flight I've ever taken!.."
I think it's a dangerous symptom. what do you think?
Thanks Rosie. Sleep well on bed okay, not on a moving train-you might miss your destination...lol..:)

I like to have music on when I sleep sometimes, especially if I'm having a hard time falling asleep. I also like those "nature sounds" CDs and such.
I intentionally start a "story" in my head before I go to sleep, in hopes that it will become my dream. After years of practice with lucid dreaming, it usually works. I continue my story even after I'm asleep, which leads to pleasant dreams for at least the first part of the night.
I don't sleep well if I'm hungry. So I eat before I sleep if I am hungry. I'll even get up in the middle of the night to eat if I wake up hungry.
I sometimes fall asleep right away, but sometimes it takes longer. Depends on how stressed out I am, I guess.

Hello singlepixel
I like absolute silence when I go to sleep. I do not have on any music, nor do I have on the television. I also generally do not think about anything as I fall asleep. When I feel sleep coming on me, I turn off the light, and I close my eyes and sleep almost immediately. Sometimes, when I am hungry, I still go to sleep. I don't like to eat right before my slumber.

I like to turn on the TV before I go to sleep, the voices on the TV make me sleepy, then someone like my children or maid would just turn it off when I'm already sleeping. When there's nobody to turn it of, it stays on until midnight or dawn until I wake up to turn it off, then I go back to sleep ^_^

I've been sleeping with the TV for years so I can't imagine sleeping without it, and it has to be loud enough for me to hear what's being said or it will just drive me crazy as I'll try to hear it. My mind is usually going in a dozen different directions, depending on my day, that's why I need the TV as a distraction. I can fall asleep with a hungry stomach and sometimes when I do I'm no longer hungry when I wake up. Since I have arthritis, back problems and restless leg syndrome sometimes it seems to take me forever to fall asleep, in fact I often get back up for awhile after turning in. I take medication to help me sleep sometimes but I hate to take it all the time.

Hi!I turn the t.v on in the bedroom to listen to the music max channel with easy listening songs. It helps me to relax and just before falling asleep i turn it off.Oh boy there are many things i like to imagine,ha,ha,sometimes of other nice looking guys and romance, funny moments with my daughter and relizing how much i love her(sigh)and things that might have to be done the next day.I have to eat something small before going to bed like toast or cup a soup.If i do not eat something,i will wake up in the night with hunger feelings.I fall asleep quite fast because im worn out from the day or on here too long, lol.:)

Thats a lot of questions!:)
when going to bed I turn off the radio or the TV, there was a time when I could sleep with them on, but as I began to work more in the day time I realized that sleeping with any noise or sound won't let my brain rest well. we think we do hot heat anything while sleeping, but it's not true - our brain receive all the information it can.
About the hungry stomach - I usually drink a tea half an hour before going to bed - eating late is not so good for health.
How fast? it depends what I an imagining / thinking before. Sometimes I just don't get to think of anything cause I'm too tired.

yeah, each person differs individually when it comes to sleeping. If I fall asleep, that's it - no one can wake me up even with a loud bang!...lol..

First I use the bathroom, brush my teeth and so on. The I get my dog ready for bed by making sure he has done all he needs to do outside. Then I turn on the tv and jump under the covers, I snuggle up to my dog and watch TVLand sometimes I let it run all night and sometimes I will turn it off just before I drift off to sleep. Depending on how tired I am I usually fall asleep in about 20 minutes.

and also as a 'tool' to determine how long you fall asleep, right?(within 30 minutes for sure) .
I used to do that in the past.
