What do you think of young girls clothing these days?

A lot of the clothes available for young girls, I feel, is too tarty. Though there are a lot of nice clothes, too many are too old-looking for a little girl. For example, the short, tight-fitting denim skirts, or the black leather-look skirts, etc... they just look aweful for a little girl! Not long ago there was a range of clothing with 'Charmed' (as in the TV show) on them in children's sizes - though some episodes of Charmed are OK, I wouldn't let my daughter watch them. It's the teenage girls who like things like 'Charmed' so the clothes should be in their sizes! Kids grow up too fast these days. It seems companies want them to grow up faster judging by the clothes they put out. Shoes, too, are ridiculous. A huge thank you to the fabulous person who developed 'ballet flats' - the shoes that are in fashion that are completely flat - yay! They are about the only shoe I can get for my daughter that does not have a heel! I saw a friend's daughter last week dressed in black knee-high boots, a black skirt, & an almost black top - she's only 8 year old! I think she looked dreadful! If she was a teenager at least, ok, but not that young! I like seeing my kids grow up, but let them be kids while they can.
