One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nughts on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.on their return from the trip the father asked his son"How was the trip"? "It was great dad" said he son."so tell me what didi you learn from the trip?"asked the father. The son answered "I saw that we have one dog and they have 4.we have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden and they have a creek that has no end.We have imported lanterns in our garden and the have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizonWe have a small piece of alnd to live on and they have the fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants to serve us but they serve others. We buy our food but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us they have friends to protect them. The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added "Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are"
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing?Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have instead of worrying about what we dont have!Appreciate every single thing you have!

Children always look at things differently from we adults. Ths reminds of the scripture that says that in all things we should give thanks. yes we should indeed appreciate what we have because to another person our little is much.

Wow! This story really gives a lot of food for thought. We often tend to focus on what we don't have instead of what we do.
This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I had just done a little shopping at the dollar store and was whining to myself that I only had two dollars left in my wallet after my little shopping trip. This payday was especially tight with bills and I didn't really have too much extra to spend.
When I got close to my car in the parking lot, there was a young woman in a beat-up old truck sitting there, crying her eyes out. The "empty" red light was flashing on the dashboard because she didn't have any gasoline left in the truck. It was very obvious that she was poor and she had a faint bruise on her cheek that just wanted to make me cry as well. She just kept saying, I want to go home and I don't have enough gas. I opened my wallet, gave her the two dollars I had left and wished her the best. All the way home, I felt so grateful for my wonderful husband, loving family, a roof over my head, food on the table and enough gas to get me home.
