You know I am still crying because to the point of writing this I still did not hear which one of my children got hit by a car.
You know yesterday my daughter acidentally took my cell phone with her to school. Therefore every call I missed. When she came I saw 8 missed calls. This is strange for me because I hardly get calls on my cell phone except my mother or my Pastor who checks on me very regularly to see if we are okay.
Sorry I cant seem to keep my thoughts straight. Let me start at the beginning.
I operate a Homework Centre at my church. What I have noticed is that the children even at Grade 8 level could not read properly or write so I decided to try to help and that were always on the streets playing. So Pastor provided a play area at the back of the church but when they began to vandalise the building we had to put a stop to it. SO of course they were back on the streets playing until the day for the centre to be opened.
I work at the Ministry of Education so I got some books and opened my homework centre and I had 28 children ranging from age 3 to 15.
Last night my church sister called me telling me that she saw one of my children hit by a car but she only knows that when they took him up he wasnt dead. I have heard nothing further but after work today I shall go to see and find out which one got hit and find out what I can do to help.
I am so shaken. I started this Centre hoping that it would help to keep them off the streets seeing that the parents are irresponsible and uncaring. I have had to visit homes comb hair, give the children a bath and even bring food for them. Sometimes the parents have too many children and cant afford it so I help out when I can along with the our church.
I am still crying beause the sister did not even know which one of them got hit. She could only tell me that it was one about 9 or 10 and of light complexion. I have two that fit that description and it seems like the both of them were riding a bicycle in the middle of the road when this happenned.
How can parents be so careless? Where were they? Why is that child on the street that hour? I am so upset that I honestly believe that these parents should be locked up! Forgive me but I am so unahppy to hear this. I will keep you posted and Mylotters, please pray for that baby for me!
God bless!

I am so sorry to hear about this.
It's dangerous to have children running and playing on the street.
Some drives are rash even if it is an area marked out for children.
Our kids were earlier allowed to play on the private street leading to our apartment. No one uses the street except residents of the apartments and visitors. Everyone knows that the kids play there in the evening. But we realized that not everyone would slow down and be careful. My son almost got hit by one of our neighbours once (and it wasn't my son's fault). Now we have them play within the apartment complex and still people are not careful when they drive in.
I know children tend to run around too but adults have to be responsible when they know kids are around.
I hope the child is safe and will definitely pray for him.

Gosh, this is sooo painful for you, I just pray and hope that the kids is fairing well, lets hope the accident was minor. Sharon, you are doing a great job and I know God is watching over you and the kids. There is a bible verse that says - everything works together for good for those who love the Lord. Sharon am sure the kid is not hurt, i know this thing happened so that it can be a warning to his parents and am sure from that day henceforth, they are going to be more careful and responsible towards that kid. I wish you were here near me, you deserve a pat in the shoulder dear Sharon, you deserve an award for the great work you are doing. God bless you sooo much.

Sharon, am glad to hear that the boy is recovering. I hope he gets well soon. Did his parents show up? how are they taking this incident? Have they learned any lesson from all this? for the boy i know he has learnt the hard way, next time he will be more careful on the road. God bless the work of your hands. Thanks for the updates.

It is very unfortunate that someone you care for has been hit and you are not able to see the kid or know his whereabouts.
If you have not tried, please try this: enquire at all the hospitals near by. They would not have taken him far off but to the nearest hospital.
Also, why not contact police who may be having knowledge and perhaps taking care of the kid. Since all of them are from the nearby place, the other kids may be knowing about this kid. Did you inquire from other kids?
It is heartening to know that there are people like you who are so much concerned about such children.
I have realized that even well off and educated parents, who are responsible otherwise, think it is right to play on the roads. The themselves join children and play with them. If you tell them not to do so, they would start having negative attitude towards you. Unfortunately, they are not in minority. It is really sad that a simple thing, that a road is only meant for vehicles to ply on it, is not understood by a large majority of people. Why can not these things be mandatory in the syllabus of our school?
In the mean time, I pray for the speedy recovery of the child. Please keep us posted about him when you come to know.

I feel so bad to hear the news. I hope that the kid is fine without any danger of life. Let us pray for the kid hurt in the traffic accident. I do hope that parents will be more careful with their kids and teach them more about the road safety to avoid unnecessary troubles and saddness.
