Recently, this wonderful thing happened to me. My son had enrolled me in ORKUT, and by chance, I was just fooling around with the computer. I suddenly typed out the name of my old friend[believe it or not ,it is roughly eighteen years since we spoke to each other.] I happened to locate many profiles with similar names but I just clicked on one-just a wild shot. Her I found her profile and immediately I sent a message to her. She saw it, and there flew a prompt reply to my mail. We got back once again and have been sending mail after mail-I really thank orkut for getting back the same opportunity of being able to share things with my close friend. Has something similar happened to any of you? If someone wants to try locating any old friend you can try this orkut. It is great.

I recently found an old friend of mine on myspace. I had lost contact with her a year ago and hadn't heard anything in reply to my letters. Then on a whim I started searching her area code on myspace and there she was. I sent her a friend request and she added me. I sent her a message now I'm just waiting for a response.

That's fantastic that you could find your old friend! I found my old friend from elementary school on myspace. I just started looking up old friends names and there he was. He was my absolute best friend and when I moved I just missed him so much. We had kept in contact for some time after I moved, but lost contact when I got married at 19. So, in 2005 I finally found him! I was so excited, we are still friends and we stay in contact quite often now.

I've located friends from being on Friendster these past few years. It's great to see a classmate you were close to in elementary after so many years!
Yeah, the name part can be tricky. It was such luck for you to find your friend with all of those names popping up! I keep finding a new classmate on the web every month, I hope to keep in touch with the ones I have been close too.:)

Kalav56, I was able to locate not one but many of my high school and college friends through the internet. I was organizing then a reunion and I tried searching my lost high school and college friends through people searches in the web. And I was so surprised to find all of them.

Wonderful for you. I gather you are a youngster. It is easier to find techsavvy friends for youngsters. For middle-aged people like me our children are the motivators. In fact, it was her sons who had opened an account for my friend too. Thank you for responding.

I found my old friends too through the net... or rather, they found me. I created an account on friendster and within a few months, some of my classmates since elementary sent a friend invite. From there the network grew, as they were also connected to others, who in turn messaged me to add them up. We may not be able to talk or email each other regularly, but the thought that there is something that connects us all even after all these years, of varying life experiences, gives me an odd comfort.

Hello again...
Thanks for posting this information about how you and an old friend re-connected after so many years. This is just one of the many joys of Mylotting...we can learn so much from each other and discover links to valuable information that we might otherwise not know about.
Good to hear that you and a valued friend are back in touch. I will file this information away for future reference and let others know of it as well. I had never heard of it...but now I know..much appreciated!

I didn't use orkut or anything but I just recently reunited with a cousin. We were in school together 10yrs ago and lost touch after graduation. I found his email on the high school website and decided just for kicks to give it a try! We were born and raised in Alabama but imagine my surprise when I received an email from California! We've been emailing now for two week trying to catch up on 10 lost years! Whoo hooo for the internet!
