Smoking Bans

Everyday you hear one story or another about some stupid law the government wants to pass on things that we as adults should be able to decide for ourselves. They propose these laws "in the interest of public health", when all they're really doing is taking away our rights one at a time.
Take the smoking ban for example. I live in Colorado where last summer a smoking ban was passed everywhere. I can no longer go into a bar, have a drink, and light a smoke because "second-hand smoke is for you". And the alcohol isn't? Eventually I won't be able to go into a casino and smoke. You ever get on a slot machine that's hitting like crazy? Do you really want to leave it to go outside to smoke? All these bartenders and casino workers just kill me. The dangers of second-hand smoke have been known for years, you knew about it, why did you take the job?? So now you sit there whining about the smoke making you sick. Get a new job! The non-smokers keep complaining about their rights to not have to breathe in my smoke. What about my rights? Anyone that goes into a bar or casino knows people will be smoking. If you don't like it, don't go! And now they're trying to ban smoking in apartments and rentals. I guess that should be up to the landlord, but it's only a matter of time before they try to tell us we can't smoke in a house we own. One by one, our rights as Americans are being taken from us.

There are already places where you can not smoke in public places, inside or out. I wrote an article called "Smokers Have Rights Too, Don't They?" You can find it if you do a general search under my user name....Terri_R.
