I live in Tennessee and most of the school's around here have started making the kids wear uniforms or certain types of cloths to school. Why have they started this and what is your opinion about it?

I think I sucks. I have too wear them (so as you know) there are too many kids that cant afford it. Schools are expection too much. They are more worried about the clothes then they are of the Education.

I wore a uniform all through my school years, I think it makes it easier :) you don't have to decide what to wear everyday, it's not a fashion parade at school. And people are less likely to get picked on for their clothes

Actually, I would agree, I wish they had that here, I dont know about the cost of the uniforms that part might be a problem, but I would like not having to make sure she has a nice looking outfit for school everyday, not like boys just jeans and a shirt is fine for them, but with a girl I would have to say I agree.

even though i'm up in the north of country i can tell you why they started with the uniforms. in some of the cities where gangs run wild with their colors and some of the symbles on the t-shirts wow so they figger if everyone wears the school uniform with their colors everyone will be the same and not appear to be involved in a gang. but i don't know how its working out. maybe someone else will be a teacher and let you know...lol
