Are there any other women out there who love to hunt as much as I do?

I'm not a woman and I don't hunt and I believe that hunting for pleasure is somehting very sick and perverse. On the other hand, if it's for food, it's completely normal and from a moral viewpoint it's probbaly even better than getting your meat at the local store. With an animal you yourself kill, you know the creature had a free life before your bullet struck. And you also know the meat is pure.

You are so right! I admire you and your thoughts. Hunting is not for everyone and I also do not believe in hunting just for the pleasure of killing. I eat what I hunt and I only hunt what I eat.

Hi Sheaper! Welcome to myLot! While I have my own rifles, shotguns and pistols, I have never been hunting. I'm a good accurate shot though, lol. Even though I don't hunt myself, I do own a large farm and have many hunters that come here for deer season, turkey, and all. Women hunters are in the minority, for sure! I have one girlfriend that deer and elk hunts, and one 13 year old girl who goes hunting (bow) for deer with her grandpa. I'm SO proud of that little girl! Her archery coach wants her to train for olympic archery. (Yes, she IS that good! Got her first deer on her first expedition last season!) Maybe sometime we can swap venison recipes. Didn't figure there'd be too many women here who hunt, so I thought I'd drop in and say hi!

Glad you did! Hi back to you! So what part of the contry are you in? I am in Western Colorado. Recipies would be good. I've never really used them but I have made up some really good meals.

Have you ever thought about trying it? Even if you never get what you go after, just getting out is the best part.

Great! I have been hunting for over 32 years and will never give it up although this year my knees have been telling me they really didn't like it. I still had fun though. Didn't get my elk but I guided several others to their bucks. I also made a new friend, whom I met while hunting and was able to help him get his buck also, on the last day. Deer starts for me on Saturday and my new friend is going to go with me, just to go and give me the support I gave him. As it turns out, he had gone to high school with my husband and they even have the same birthday. (I have been trying to post this responce for the last week and for some reason it would not let me so here I am trying it again)

Also forgot to say we have deer and antelope that frequent the property. We used to have coyotes before they tried the dogs, now they avoid our property. Some of the farmers hunt them as pest. Or for sport:(

Smilin' Hog Huntin' Pit Bulldog - The smilin' hog hunting Pit Bull who loves to play with anything!
I'm a woman and I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking camping. All those fun things. How could you kill a deer? Well for food, not just kill it for sport or for"fun". Is it ok to raise sheep to slaughter them, are they not cute, do they want to be killed? Probably not. Anyway a lot of animals of not hunted cause problems, there were deer over populated the city so they had to lift the deer hunting ban within the city and have controlled hunts. They were running through the streets. Hogs damage $100s in crops, they will eat and destroy like locus and also cause car wrecks which injure and kill people. Its people who move into their habitat some say and thats mostly true, but population of any animal must be kept in balance by a predator or another way.

I just started in on the sport of archery and one day I would love to go hunting. I believe that God created the creatures of this earth for our consumption. I also believe that you must eat what you kill and kill only what you eat.

I've been hunting for 5 years now and I really enjoy it...even though I don't seem to be very good at it, lol. My husband is very good, every time I go with him he gets one and then he comes and gets me to help him drag it out. If I go by myself I don't usually see anything, or if I do it's a bambi and not worth taking.
